Should I convert FLAC files to WAV or AIFF?

Can iTunes read any of these file types? I'm totally new with the FLAC thing (along with many others I think) so I'm just curious which is the best way to go...

*I was going to post this in the Touch Base forum, but there's only like 3 people on there at a time; I thought my question would get a little more exposure this way...

Convert to wav using FLAC frontend. Once in wav, burn to a CD for lossless. You can then convert those wav files to mp3 if you want for iTunes/iPod, but since that's a lossy format, I would recommend either saving the FLAC files, or making sure you burn a CD before you get rid of them (from the wav files, not the mp3's).

Also, if you have Nero, you can burn lossless CD's directly from the FLAC files. No need to even convert.

Can I burn WAV files through iTunes or do I need a separate burning program (like Toast)? Sorry if these are stupid questions. Also, is Nero downloadable anywhere?

I've already downloaded MacFLAC. I'm just wondering about burning them. I'm going to keep the source FLAC files for archiving purposes, but I'm just curious on how to burn the newly converted WAV files (for my computer and iPod). Thanks for all your help!

just copy (drag/drop) the wav files directly into itunes. itunes will burn them as wav files.

You can download the trial version of Nero and then crack it - get the serial number/keygen - using astalivista.us

go here: http://flac.sourceforge.net for all your FLAC needs. as for your question regarding iTunes and Flacs. i dont have an iTunes or use an ipod, but since they are marketted at and made for mp3s, i would imagine that is all the program can handle.

now, for those of you who appreciate the quality of FLAC files and want to listen to the flac's on your ipods, you can install Rockbox for the ipod. go here: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IpodPort to learn how to install that on your ipod.
