Posters from EV Postponed Shows?

Does anybody know if there were posters made for the Eddie Vedder solo shows with the original dates? I had tickets to the show in Tulsa this Friday and would love to get my hands on the poster from the show because its my 25th birthday on Friday. So, how would I find out if the posters even exist or where I could buy one?

Thanks

    Hi Jeff,

No word on the posters, but I'm sure the artists knew way before we did that the shows were going to be postponed so they may not have printed any.

That's what I thought! If I knew that, I might not have purchased tickets.

    Hi Jeff,

No word on the posters, but I'm sure the artists knew way before we did that the shows were going to be postponed so they may not have printed any.

Posters are usually very cheap to print...maybe $1 to $1.25, so they may have been printed in advance.

I know it seems like there a few artists that seem to make most of the posters but is there a way to find out who made the posters for the Tulsa shows?

you could email each suspected artist

but i suspect you wouldn't get a response from all of them

    but it's worth a try

Not if TPTB wanted to wait until they had the new dates finalized before making an announcement. My statement about the artists knowing "way" before we did is only speculation on my part as I have no way of knowing when the artists were informed about the tour postponement.

No, we don't know who was assigned to design that poster. That information just hasn't been announced.

The posters exist but they'll never see the light of day.

I'd very much doubt the posters were printed.

They were probably designed, colours laid out, and ready to run 'em.... but I doubt they were printed, given the "freshness" of the recent batches of posters (i.e. the inks still smelling so strong that you could get high huffing the tube)...

If you've never seen the screen printing process - most of the work goes into cutting out the screens and testing the inks and sequence of colours... actually running the printing isn't near as long, provided you're not doing massive runs (i.e. for a EV show instead of a PJ show)...

I mean, realistically speaking, the shows were cancelled on the 5th, and all the make up dates were scheduled, so they had to have been working on that for about a week... I would say they knew around the 26th-27th of March that shit wasn't happening.... printing runs got cancelled and the designers sent back the original artwork and asked to redo their lettering for fall dates...
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

I would imagine the poster designs will be used for the fall tour, and they would just destroy any that were printed with the wrong date. But who knows...

Was thinking the same thing. Before emailing D&L & other printing shops their high rez image to print copies off, hopefully none made it to the print shop to get done.

I wonder if they will change the artwork on those prints now that it's happening this November / December (other then just changing the dates).

My guess would be yes, especially for something like the tour opener show that kicks off on Halloween night. I would think that would get a special makeover, no? And I could see possibly incorporating holiday themes for the later Nov and Dec ones maybe.

I'd think the Albuquerque poster for election night would be a great poster to re-do.

I'd be willing to bet that ANY merchandise that has been printed with specific dates will be destroyed, or in the case of clothing, possibly shipped to third world countries (like with the Superbowl loser shirts). Any designs or items already produced that did not reference specific dates/times of year will most likely be re-used, while other rescheduled dates that bear some significance (Halloween, election dates, etc.) may get a makeover.

Personally, I would frown upon anything that shouldn't have seen the light of day, ending up on the secondary market, particularly through these forums...

I'm sure EV paid for any pressing of any poster or wasted money by the people who did the posters.

I say this as I am heading to Houston this weekend for 4 days to not hear EV.

Better to see a city I've never seen then lose the 1300$ I have already spent.

    Go Astros!!

It looks like a few of these posters are going to be in the EV mystery boxes! Too bad the 4/20/12 Tulsa poster isn't one of them on the list.
