Dude, I am so in the same boat as you its not even funny... this Philly trip is going cost me way over 2 grand. The only thing keeping my sanity is constantly reminding myself that you only go around once...and besides, its Pearl Jam.....

Yea it seems like its not gonna cost a lot BUT
    4 pairs of tix
    hotel rooms
    gas/tolls/food
    merch

not including my gf taking plane from ny to philly for a show
and since my car is a piece of junk i might need a rental
I wish it was under 500

you drink like a $1000 worth in a few days? There is nothing wrong with that!

I haven't seen PJ since Lolla in '07, but I do like to look at my profile page for the 10 Club now and then and laugh at all the money I have gladly pissed away on this awesome band (who is totally worth it!). It's better than the money I have wasted on ex-girlfriends, that's for sure.
words seem so out of place.

Couch Surfing is an easy way to do it. I know people that have gone months on nothing more then maybe a grand in their pockets and come back home with enough money to pay rent. It's not that hard to do.

Driving from Phoenix to LA tomorrow for the final three SOCAL shows and I know you can find ways to save some cash. The number one thing for me is to stay OUT of hotels! They are a rip-off! I can't get over so many hotels costing 80 plus a night just to sleep. I am going the camping route. I picked up a cheap air mattress from Target and am going to sleep at a camp site each night for dirt cheap and sleep in the car. By the time the concerts are over it'll be late enough to where you should be able to get into the campgrounds for nothing, just can't stay too late the next morning.

You can bring coolers in the car stop by your local supermarket and load up on food there which will save you from going the restaurant route every meal.

I also am looking online for a free 5 day trial to a gym so I can get my morning showers if I can't get one at the camp sites.

There are ways to save money, you just gotta be creative and do some things you may not like to normally do!

I hear you man. I've spent a ton on PJ over the years but these 4 Philly shows are the most economical way to see the band if you live close by. I live in Jersey and got the Radisson $75 hotel rate. My friends and I booked 5 rooms and there almost 15 of us sharing them. If you want to see four shows this tour, this is the way to do it.

Well the tickets and the cost of gas/beer are /2 because I split them with a friend. We are also visiting a friend who goes to Drexel and has a house so thats a place to stay.

You will EASILY spend $1600+ I cant believe people are actually arguing your $2k number...Poster-$30x4 shows, shirt-$30x4 shows, 5 days worth of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, 4 shows worth of pre-game cocktails...Yikes! I am so glad this is going down in my hood...

Guess I'm pretty lucky to live in the Philly suburbs, going to 10/30 & 10/31- just the price of tickets for me, plus other odds and ends like some tailgate food & drink (10/31 only); taking the train from my house (already own a monthly pass for that for work), and maybe buy a shirt. All in all, a pretty cheap deal for the most anticipated shows of the tour (and of the year, in Philly).

    Most anticipated??? Maybe

    Most Over Hyped???? Definitely!!!!

I have a strange feeling that there are some people who are in for a big letdown. These will be Pearl Jam shows, nothing more, nothing less. I think people are building these shows up to be the 2nd coming of Christ..

And they are going to be disappointed. Just a feeling I have.

They will be great shows(most pearl jam shows are).

But they are not going to be The Holy Grail of Pearl Jam shows....
