I had one a few years ago, can't remember the number from back then. Just got a new one a month ago, and it's 437XXX.
Personally, I have no idea why anyone would let theirs lapse just for the fact the band wasn't touring. They rarely come to my neck of the woods.....the big perks for me is the holiday single and the magazines. I wish I had joined and stayed that way a LOOOONG time ago.
Shut up, Hugh. You forgot to remind me to renew last hear, and now you are dead and here I am with a much higher number.
Fucker.

Lapsed multiple times since the mid-nineties I think? Also owned all original pressings of PJ vinyl at one point or another. Wish I knew they'd become fucking gold! Kicking myself for both.

Another vote for giving a pass to actively deployed military. They should be allowed to renew under their original number if they were deployed and missed the date. That's the least we could do for them.

Mine is 429xxx now. Let it lapse in the early 2000s and re signed up years later. Somewhere around 02' I looked through my old collection to find what my number would've been. At that point there were no preprinted member numbers on anything from what I saw. So I don't know what my number would've been had I stayed continuously. I lapsed for a few reasons. I was in my very early 20s. Grave LT Illness w/ the sole breadwinner in my family. Then uncertain living situation that took a few years to get sorted bouncing from apartment to apartment. Didn't even have internet for a few years. I delayed re joining for a few more years as honestly cash flow was poor and I was so pissed with myself for letting it go I refused to renew for a while. Still sore about it tbh but that's life

I always read the fan club info in the packaging. Started with Ten & then VS & I always thought the same as someone above mentioned. What's the fan club & why would I need or want to pay money to join that? (Wow, was that stupid of me lol).
I finally joined in '96 or '97 I think. I had a 188xxx number. I forgot about it & let it lapse after a year or so. Starting in '02 I was getting married & having kids. I couldn't really join again until 2009ish. I'm in the 433xxx range now.

I used to be a board denizen back in the day, but I sorta let it get away from me. Quite a few times actually. I think my 10C has lapsed about four or five times now. Just too much going on in the world, I guess. Have had some great times, but the PJ always brings ya back, right?
Hope I'm not the only one! Who else is 400 and proud (albeit slightly ashamed)?
I feel like I'd be up on stage now if I hadn't lapsed so many times. " alt="" />
There was a few times after I first got it where I would milk it a bit. IE it would expire in January, but nothing would get mailed out for months. So then I would renew it in march, then the next year june kind of thing. I wouldn't miss out on anything but I would push my expiry date back a bit.... I think I stopped doing that when I stopped being super broke. Probably after university at some point. Now I let it autorenew ever year. There was one year I almost flatout forgot but I got a reminder email from 10c. I have an ok fan club #, so I've done my best to make sure I don't lose the seniority.
Originally signed up in 1995. Let it lapse in 1998 and haven't forgotten since.
