i read this quote on this forum which i now use a lot, so kudos to whoever said it:

"seperate the art from the artist"
..and you will come to find that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable
  • its Winehouse.

and no they are not, she is not a trend or transitory talent.

the lady can sing, and that talent wont disappear yet, in spite of the drug problems.

Frank and Back to Black are great albums though they are totally different production wise and set up wise. its her thats the main thread.

i wish everyone would stop taking a bash at her, shes the best brit talent to hit for years. would you rather listen to her or lily allen?

Right now she is blowing away american talent too.

    then maybe you should careless.....

    its 'i couldnt careless"

i careless means you do care, even if just alittle.

    sorry pet peeve.

    oh me too... :):)

    i fucking hate it

p.s. its "care less"... 2 words.. careless means sloppy... care less means not caring... just like 99.3% of people reading this post
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

London has no respect for artists. It kills them. If she moves away, she might be okay.

i too do not understand the bashing of Amy Winehouse. i listen to her album in heavy rotation with all the other great albums that have been released this year. its a fun playlist of -

Icky Thump - The White Stripes
    Year Zero - NIN
    Zeitgeist - Smashing Pumpkins
Back to Black - Amy Winehouse
    Era Vulgaris - QOTSA

personally, i hope she releases another album real soon!

I think Amy Winehouse and the Squirrel Nut Zippers are touring KMart's worldwide.

I think she has a great voice (just now) how long it will last that way though could be up for question.
I can't bare to read any articles or watch her though.I had to turn of the t.v when she performed on Jools. Its a train wreck life. There are elements of her presentation that remind me to much of Courtney Love at her worst during the last days of sucking Kurts soul dry.
The drugs make you believe they work, for a short while. But once they stop working they never ever work, ever again.
Believe me I am an addictions support worker and see the degrees of addictions daily. Its not nice when the gloss of the celebrity magazine fades.

She reminds me of Courtney too but she has more talent. She was great on Jools Holland! What are you talking about?

    The next Nina Simone!

    ...

I'm quoting myself here. She's not the next Nina Simone but how anyone can bash her, I don't know?

    Bring it on!

    i like you!

    :)
  • aaargh! shes all over the papers again, with blood between her toes all over her shoes from injecting heroin...

this is getting way too fucked up now...sort it out amy!

I agree with courtney comparisons, but diff is amy can sing.
  • yeah i didn't get that either. what does that have to do with the music?

Nothing with the music, but potentially her famousness (word?). If she was fat and crusty looking she would never even get a deal.

I've got a sad feeling she won't be alive for much longer. Pete Doherty, on the other hand, will probably live until he's ninety.
