Love it.All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.0

Yea if you don't like Who's Next I'm guessing The Who isn't for you. I have the Deluxe edition as well, and I love it.

I know what you mean about Tommy & Quadrophenia, apart from a handfull of tracks I really haven't been able to get into them as albums.
Never really liked The Who's early, slightly poppy/Beatlesque side.
But, Who's Next!! Now there's an album I do love. Right up in my top ten of all time. Love it.Cymru Am Byth

I used to love The Who between the ages of ten and twelve, but then I moved onto Hendrix and didn't really look back. However, Who's Next is a fine album. I think it's a pity Quadrophenia wasn't aborted at the time, like Lifehouse. Townshend might have distilled the best material from it, as he did with the Lifehouse material on Who's Next, and saved us the filler.0

Maybe try Meaty Beaty, Big And Bouncy?
Glad your gettin in to Who's Next
Like the beatles, the "peak" is not my favorite.
Dig the early stuff too.
You should at least pick up and give The Who Sell Out and A Quick One a quick listen. I highly recommend just ditching Whos Next for a while and sinking in to those two.
Also, Odds & Sods is essential, and Who Are You is a good later album with some quirky disco era goodness. (no disco though! i said disco-ERA. lol) ...
oh and THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT!
WATCH IT!
oh.
and when your ready for a little more.
Go track down a copy of ROUGH MiX!
(and Scoop, if your realy adventureous. lol)If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?0 -
" I don't really know myself" version at the Isle of wright is the superior version, other than than its a great record0

I've listened to a friend's cousin's who albums. They don't do anything for me. A little too cheesy, IMO. My mom was always my biggest provider of music and musical tastes growing up. She had some Who albums, I could never get into it back then either. I just really don't hear what is so great about them.bombs, dropping down, please forgive our hometown0

I love Quadrophenia up and down. Great album.
The only other Who album I have is "Who's Better, Who's Best", an old greatest hits collection I don't think they even sell anymore.
In getting into them, I would suggest a greatest hits album then go from there."We're fixed good, lamp-wise."0 -

That wasn't on the original album. It was the B-side of the truncated Won't Get Fooled Again single, in 1971.0 -
come people QUADROPHENIA & TOMMY these two alone should be the starting point these are TOWNSENDS best work ,IMO at least ....jesus greets me looks just like me ....0

first 4 tracks are killer0

Listen to Quadrophenia a BUNCH of times. You'll be singing along, before long. The Real Me, 5:15, Love Reign O'er Me, I'm One? They ALL kick ass! One of my all time favorite albums

I was massively into the Who as a kid and saw them 9 or 10 times live in the UK. Mid-period albums like Who's Next and the original Quadrophenia album are their best work imho. Avoid the later releases (Face Dances onwards) like the plague, but the early stuff (pre-Tommy) is fun, if very different.
Zeppelin mean more to me now out of bands of that era, but the best of The Who is great stuff. I'd have thought most PJ fans would have loved Who's Next....?www.myspace.com/clareobrienwright

if you want to hear tommy like you've never heard it before, pick up the double disc "join together". it's from the 1987 / 1988 tour and the first disc is a shortened, but incredible updated version of "tommy". truct me, you won't be dissapointed.look into the eyes of the fallen.....you got to know there's another..another..another..another..way.0
