Faith No More readies return?

Kerrang! understands that a number of U.K. venues have been placed on hold for shows from the band next spring, while U.K. festival appearances are rumored to follow in the summer. Founding bassist Bill Gould played down the speculation, telling Kerrang! “If anything like this were to happen, it would have to come from the band, and I haven’t spoken with any of them in over a year. So as far as I know, there isn’t anything to talk about, and I’m pretty sure that if you were to contact [Mike] Patton [vocals], he would tell you the same thing.”

Despite several years of vigorously denying claims the band would reform, Mike Patton seems to have softened in recent months. In an interview with the Artisan News Service in January, he said “I wouldn’t rule it out. I don’t think we need to reform the band, but maybe there’s other things we could do together.”

    I don't see it happening ... it has more of a chance than a Smiths reunion, but, still ... Patton is too busy with all his other projects to do this.

    indeed ... "I wouldn't rule it out" is the softest stance that Patton has had on this ... but, it's far from inspiring.

    Still ... I hope Coachella is the one to break through here and get them back together ... if they can do it with Rage, perhaps they can do it with FNM.

    I doubt they'd ever actively reform...if anything, they'll do what Rage did...a few shows to make some good money for a while. But I don't see Patton going against everything he prides himself on, which is always doing something new and different. If they actually made another album, you can be fairly certain that it won't sound like any previous FNM releases...it'd be like anything Patton releases...unexpected, and you'll either love it or hate it.

    well, Far is touring again so i wouldn't rule out a FNM reunion.

    Patton said that if the money was right, he'd do it. But otherwise, he saw no benefit to it.

    I'm hoping the money was right, cause I'd love to see them live. If by some small chance they do reform for a tour, I hope they do some shows in the states so I can go.

    I doubt this will happen but I really really REALLY hope it does. FNM are one of the few bands that I would take money out of the "I really hope Pearl Jam are going to play soon so i'd better save money" fund.

    I'd love to see a FNM reunion, I miss them very much, their live shows were fantastic!!!

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    One of the best live bands ever, I would love to see them back. But didn't it all end a little messily (is that even a word? )? Big Jim wasn't too thrilled about Roddy coming out as I recall, quite apart from the other issues they had.
    Still, fingers crossed :)

    They pretty much all hated each other for a variety of reasons. I don't see it happening, but I'd go in a heartbeat.
