Talented members of bands you don't like?

Yeah, I don't know what to think of Rush. It's pretty clear that are three members are wonderfully talented, but I could never fully get into them. Too many songs about spaceships or something...

I agree wholeheartedly about Mayer and Santana. Fantastic guitarists, but they make bland, shitty pop music. Speaking of bland, shitty pop, Bono has a great set of pipes but I find U2 pretty much unbearable.

What's the name of that long haired Hawaiian fella? He plays organ in some Seattle band... Now he's good, but dem other guys, I just dunno...

Have all you guys ragging on Santana listened to any of his classic stuff? I agree that all he's done in the last ten years is put great guitar solos on shitty pop songs, but his early stuff is phenomenal. Seriously, check out his first four albums, especially Abraxas and Caravanserai. Those albums rank right up there with the best rock of the late 60's/early 70's.

As far as the topic goes: I respect the musicianship of the guys in Dave Matthews Band and Phish, but, with a few exceptions, their music doesn't do anything for me.

and who is this john mayer that you all keep talking about? (i don't get any music tv channels, and stopped listening to the radio because it seems like every dj is a mysoginistic bastard with an iq of about 20), is he that wierd curly haired, pouty lipped, blue eyed guy that sings just barely above a whisper? he's kinda annoying, like he went into music to get with the ladies.

So you are saying that although you respect certain members of these bands, you hate Tool, Foo Fighters and RHCP??? Are you serious...you can't be serious...please say you aren't serious. Tool might be the most musically, lyrically and socially adept bands EVER. Foo Fighters started as only Dave Grohl...he was the first and ONLY member, so how could you respect Dave, but hate the band that he by himself created. Oh yea, if it wasn't for RHCP, Pearl Jam wouldn't have Ed. Sorry, but you are wrong.

Another guitarist I always liked was Wes Borland (hated Limp Bizkit)

Yeag Billy's voice isnt great, but i couldnt hear SP songs being song any other way.
