OK - that was clearly a backhanded attack on my musical taste BUT since you asked you shall receive

    Stone Temple Pilots
    Matt Good
    Audioslave
    Soundgarden
    AC/DC
    Guns N Roses
    Ben Harper
    Metallica
    Foo Fighters
    RHCP
    Our Lady Peace
    Incubus

I agree with MOST of these though. Not Matt Good. I like him. And STP. But the rest you are spot on.

  • Any Bands That Wear Guyliner - Fuck them.
Van Halen - It's cool that Eddie can play like he does, but write a good song.
    80's - Gay.
Lynyrd Skynyrd - They make me cringe.
    Ted Nugent - Dickhead.
Greatful Dead - I just don't like 'em. I don't say anything bad about them.
    Phish - Ditto.

Yeah - I knew this would not be a popular choice BUT I just can't handle Plant's vocals....his voice is like nails on a chalkboard....please forgive me ;) (does this mean i'm out of the club?)

Maybe I need to give Matt Good another shot - several people on this board (whose taste in music I really respect) have given me slack for not liking MG. My little brother was a big fan of his and I never liked what I heard - but that was many years ago and at that time I pretty much HATED all the crap he was into (MG, OLP, Big Wreck, I Mother Earth, Dave Matthews etc etc etc)

Haha. I will not be in a club by myself. And not liking Rush is grounds enough for me to keep you in the club. Geddy Lee is WORSE than nails on a chalk board.

OLP really sucks. But MG is seriously talented. If you are going to get anything I would say get his greatest hits, the audio of being, or avalanche. His b sides alone are amazing. If youdo get the greatest hits make sure you get the one with the extra disc.

    I don't like:

    The Police
    Bruce Springsteen
    Bon Jovi
    Def Leppard
Most of the bands in Todds lists
    System of a Down
    Rage Against the Machine

i agree with you i tried really hard and i just cant get into that sound...to be honest most indie bands lately all sound the same...whiny voices...oh well to each their own

im into metal right now so i dont know if i have much room to talk about voices..haha

Killswitch Engage-As Daylight Dies is on full rotation as we speak

tool - im sorry, but every single tool song i ever listened to in my entire life sounds exactly the same

white stripes - just cos jack white's weirder than fuck-all and potentially banging his sister does not make him a genius

dave matthews band - they're the most incredibly self-indulgent and boring group i ever heard

soundgarden - they have some decent songs, but the amount of ass-kissing for them around here is ridiculous... they're not that great (this can include anything chris cornell does basically)

I agree with the Tool comment. Every song sounds like a remix of the last.

Re Jack White, Meg is actually his ex-wife. Which makes sense if you think about it... tho he is still weird. w/ever.
  • White Stripes- Some ok songs and he is a great guitarist but just can't get into them. Meg is an awful drummer....
My Bloody Valentine's Loveless- Easily the most overated album on this board
Most indie bands (there are exceptions but most indie bands suck)
    My chemical romance
    System of a Down
Sleater-Keaney (sp)-Corin Tucker's voice could strip paint of a wall, and I mean that in the worst possible sense.

Emo - All of it, no exceptions. :D
Tool - There albums seem like one really long song.
    Pearl Jam....... - Gotcha!
Most of the 'The' bands that have some out over the past 5 years with the exceptions of The Stroke and The White Stripes (TWS are borderline though)
  • Genesis
    Kansas
    Chicago
    Supertramp
    Boston

Edited to add: How come so many overrated art bands are named after geographic locations? I'm sensing a theme.
