John Martyn, on a good night, is the best act in the world, for me. His current band is very tight, too.
Here he is, with Danny Thompson, playing his song "Solid Air" (which he wrote for his friend Nick Drake):

            My picks (in no order):
 Pearl Jam (duh)
 The Rolling Stones
Gloria Estefan (I'm not kidding, it was like a huge party)
 Radiohead
 Nine Inch Nails
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
 Prince
 U2
Moby (He was running all over the place, playing guitar, keyboards, drums, and the music made everyone bust a move)
R.E.M. (This is kind of a biased choice because they're my favorite band, but most times I've seen them have been great and the setlists almost always vary from night to night)"As long as the music's loud enough, we won't hear the world falling apart."—Jubilee

Motorpsycho« One man's glory is another man's hell.
You’re on the outside, never bound by such a spell.
Together in the darkness, alone in the light.
I took it upon me to be yours, Timmy,
I’ll lead your angels and demons at play tonight......»0

            Rage Against The Machine-Lalopaloza 1994
 WOW!!!!
They opened the show on the main stage that year.
We had listened to their debut CD on the way to the show..... It was like listening to it live when they played. Never knew a band could sound like that live.
