California pornography company Red Light District claims to have acquired a 1999 sex tape in which Stapp, soon after he was divorced from Hillaree Burns, and singer Kid Rock engage in oral sex acts with fans.[5] RLD planned to release the tape in 2006, but one of the women involved filed to block it.[6] Rock also filed an injunction, called Stapp an "idiot" and blamed him for the tape's leak.[7]

A spokesman for the airport police said that Stapp was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in a public place and taken to the Van Nuys station for processing. Stapp demanded a blood-alcohol test at the station, where he registered a 0.18--twice the legal limit. He was then booked and released on $250 bail. After a court hearing, he was not charged. He was obviously intoxicated during Casino Cinema, a celebrity poker show on the cable channel Spike TV. "During the episode, Stapp slurs his words, curses incessantly, claims Dave Grohl has 'a little cock',' demonstrates a bizarre series of kung-fu moves and demands a kiss from co-host Beth Ostrosky (Howard Stern's girlfriend)."[9]

Stapp was also involved in a brawl with members of the band 311 on Thanksgiving day 2005 at a Baltimore hotel and showed up drunk for a TV interview. 311's Chad Sexton, SA Martinez and P-Nut claim, on their official website, that Stapp started the fight. However, hotel security director Jonathan Jordan, claims that security cameras captured the incident and that "Stapp was 'attacked' by several members of 311 and that it took two security guards to break up the fight. SA Martinez told MTV: "He was acting out of control, looking for attention and being loud and obnoxious. He walked up to the bar, took a shot of whiskey and then slammed the shot glass down on the bar, and it shattered everywhere. He said some disrespectful things towards my wife and I asked him what he said, and then Chad came over and said, "Don't talk to her that way," and Scott got up and Chad followed him. After a while he went back to the bar and was looking for attention. And then a few minutes later, he came back to the table where my wife was, sat down across from us and wanted attention, he started the fight, then the police arrived, escorted Scott to his room and then told him to get out of the hotel." A spokesperson for Stapp, who had previously attracted controversy surrounding incidents like a drunken 2002 concert stop with Creed in Chicago, did not return MTV News' requests for comment on the altercation, and according to the Baltimore Police Department, no charges have been filed.

Stapp was arrested again by Florida police in May 2007 and charged with assault related to domestic violence. No one was injured in the incident.[10]

Stapp, and his band Creed played their final concert at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL, where Stapp reportedly performed while intoxicated and/or heavily medicated. Many claim that Stapp forgot lyrics to the songs being played, as well as leaving stage on multiple occasions, eventually returning wearing no shirt and stained pants from what many suspect was due to vomiting back stage. The band was later sued due to the poor performance, but the suit was later thrown out due to the fact that it was a rock concert and rock concerts aren't always good. [11]

now this all sounds very rock n' roll to me. It would be hypocritical to deny that other rock 'greats' like Axel Rose, John Bonham etc wouldnt get up to similar crazy things?

I'm not saying I'm anti-conformist. I never said anything against creed (though I don't like them) but touting how many times someones been arrested is just stupid.

While I agree - both Scott Stapp and Axl Rose are among some of the biggest ass-hats in rock-n-roll. The biggest difference is that there was a time when Axl (with the original G-N-R) actualy put out music that I liked. Appetite for Destruction and Use Your Illusion I & II are all great albums.

However, Axl has since become a joke, just like Stapp and Fred Durst. And Stapp and Durst never put out good music in my opinion.

And Stapp and his whole "I'm a friend of Jesus" attitude - and then beats his wife and picks fights with other band members of other bands.

So, you start a pro-Creed thread on a heavily anti-Creed board (that is the PJ official board) and bait people into telling you why and how much we dislike Creed and Stapp - and you feel as though you got something or learned something from all this or proved something that we all didn't already know?

wow i see some people are still stuck in the "MaINsTR3AM MuSIK is teh Suxx0rs!!111!!1" phase. if you don't like the music then you don't like the music, there's no arguing that so don't listen to it. no big deal but why put someone down for something as stupid as what band they like?
