I've seen them 3 times. Twice openign and i thought they were good. Once headlingin their own show and it is to this day one of the best shows i have ever seen and i go to a ton of shows. Perhaps a bad night or maybe just not your style.

I would like to add Death Cab for Cutie to this list. I saw them twice. Once opening for PJ and once headlining their own tour. I like the music on the CD but for me it did not translate well live. The band just was lifeless. Shoegazer like. I was very disapointed and i'll never see them again.

I have their studio albums......there not my favorite but i like em. I saw them open up for rhcp and they sounded bad. Maybe it was the speakers..i dunno

Okay, from now on lets make a rule that anyone who has no fucking idea what that child porn case was about and what happened during and as a result of it should shut the fuck up.

    THANK YOU!!!!!!

Filter was another band that I saw that was bad. I saw them at a festival of some sort and they sounded like ass.

    Queens of the Stone Age
Modest Mouse (one of my favorite bands, but they were awful both times I saw them)

Some of the other bands listed here are ones I have seen and loved. The Mars Volta. Jimmy Eat World. Audioslave (I caught Chris on a good day, I guess).
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

    .

One of my favourite bands at the moment, but I've never seen them playing live. So I would really like to know something more. It must be hard to play that kind of music live and it must be even harder to sing that way. I absolutely love them on the records, but I don't know what to expect from a live show.

Bob Dylan. I'm a Huge Dylan fan, but his live show could have been alot better. It wasn't all his fault though, the Sound in the Houston Astrodome sucks, that's why the seats are cheap. But, Bob didn't say a single word all night, and the band messed up lay lady Lay (they should have started over). I'll keep in mind that this was part of the Rodeo, so the set was short. I'd like to see Bob again cause maybe he just didn't get a good vibe from that whole live stock rodeo setting. I'm hoping to see him in a theater type setting at a show in the future, hopefully it will be better. His album Modern times is amazing. Being a big Dylan fan, I was a bit dissapointed. Hopefully I won't get reemed for this. :o

Sorry to hear this, cause I saw the who twice this year, and they put on the best show I have ever seen. Pearl jam still is and will always be my favorite band, but the who gets my top spot for best concert... even over pearl jam. yeah, I said it.

RHCP: disappointing records and shows since 1999...

The Killers: they played before U2 in Poland and they were terrible, really although Hot Fuss was maybe my favourite record of 2004. They could play come on like 4 songs and the half of Mr. Brightside, their stuff did not work at all and the singer were simply not able to handle the situation. Huge disappointmen just ike their latest record!!!!!!!!!!!!

Placebo: Saw them 4 times and in 2001 and 2003 they were really awesome but last year they sucked huge balls (supporting Depeche Mode and 3 months later a festival headliner :( )

It has NOTHING got to do with the quality of their shows I am afraid...;)

The White Stripes(self indulgent with no stage prescence whatsoever)

QOTSA - sounded bloody awful at Reading.

RHCP- Singer who simply CANNOT sing live, end of.

Franz Ferdinand - Ditto , but all their songs are pretty wank anyway.

Lost Prophets - Hard to articulate , as they were that bad.

Death from Above 1979- Caught by accident at Reading - What a shambolic fucking racket!

When i saw them as an opening band they only got 45 minutes to play so that really cramps them.

When i saw them on their own headline tour it was incrediable. 2 hours of nonstop music. They would just blend one song into another it was one huge jam. They took Drunken Lanterns and turned it into a 15 minute jam. They tend to do a lot of improv live.

Cedric sounds incrediable he hits the notes you would think he can't hit live. Omar for the most part i thought was great. I saw them with Jon theodore and he is a drumming machine. I loved his work. They are worth seeing espcially if you catch them on their own. I am honest when i saw them at the tabernacle in atlanta it was not just one of the coolest concerts i've seen.

By far the biggest disappointment for me at a live show was The Smashing Pumpkins. After adoring all their albums, I saw them on their last tour through Canada and they were horrible live. Sound, singing, set list, etc all left ALOT to be desired.

Nearly everything I've ever heard live from Smashing Pumpkins is mindblowing.

I love his voice but I'm not gonna argue that he's a great singer... same goes for Bob Dylan and Neil Young though, so think about my affection for Corgan how you might see those 2 and maybe you can understand :p

I think the Chili Peppers pretty much always win (lose?) these threads.

I am going to say Green Day, as of American Idiot. Having seen them twice before, they really kinda sucked, could have played a good 5-7 more songs if Billie Joe hadn't spent the entire night leading the crowd in "Heeyyy... Ho..." and other such stupid shit. They made their most grown up record yet, and then went on tour and played to the 12 year olds... good job guys.
