i for one would like to see them dump the million dollar lighting rig/laser show, bring back the discoball and candles, and give us tickets back in the 40 dollars range (instead of the current 50-60+ dollar range)
i think that is something that should be done before we bother worrying about who sits where.
i understand touring costs have gone up, but have they really DOUBLED since 1998? Wouldn't leaving those extra trucks full of lights at home help the situation with the fans AND the environment?

 Yes.
Your dollar has lost SOMEWHERE between 25 and 50% of its value in the last 12 years or so ... if you want to draw it forward to current, just move the line down to "74", which is where it is now on the $ index. Keep in mind the dollar index itself is weighted against OTHER inflationary currencies, so its hiding a significant amount of value loss.If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?0

I think ticket prices are still pretty reasonable.Yea they are higher but so are ticket prices across the board. I saw PJ on the 05 Canadian tour in Ottawa. Last year my girlfriend saw Tim McGraw in the same arena. The difference in ticket prices was insane. I paid about $120 for 2 floor seats. For her concert anywhere on level 1 or 2 was about $120 for 1 seat.0

yeah, but that is Tim McGRAW!!!!!!
We are only talking about PJ here... Tim McGraw is AMAZING!0

everything in life goes up in price... tell me one thing (beisdes Bazooka gum) that has stayed the same in price for the past 10 years?
And anyway if you go see any half decent badn/performer these days, you are probably more likely to spend $75-100+ for a show (decent seats) Pearl Jam keeps all the tickets the same price and you still get to see a killer show at the end of the day. My first Pearl Jam show, I paid $12 to see them... I would happily pay 10x that amount to see them today...as long as the quality of the show is what you are expecting from it.4/12/92, 8/11/92, 9/28/96, 9/11/98, 8/23/00, 8/24/00, 7/9/03, 4/30/03, 10/1/04, 10/3/05, 12/9/05, 5/12/06, 5/17/06, 5/28/06, 6/3/06, 12/9/06, EV LA 4/12-4/13/08, 6/12/08, 6,19,08, 6,20,08, 6/24/08, 6/25/08, 7/1/08
and still jonesing for another show....
 "the waiting drove me mad..."0

We are all stuck paying additional venue and handling fees. These can be outrageous and near half the price of the original ticket.Everyone is born, but not everyone is born the same. Some will grow to be butchers, or bakers, or candlestick makers. Some will only be really good at making Jell-O salad. One way or another, though, every human being is unique, for better or for worse.0

These ticket prices for Ed's solo shows just show how full of shit he is.
If Ian MacKaye can tour the country and charge 10 bucks, Ed can't charge less than 65?
What a joke that man has become.0

VHS has gone down in price. Maybe since the band is old now they should go down in price too.you couldn't swing if you were hangin' from a palm tree in a hurricane.0

WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to harsh there my friend. Ed is playing between 1000 and 2000 seat venues and it costs a lot of money to go on tour and book these type of theaters. My guess is that Ian was playing small clubs that hold 500 people max. These places cost less to rent.10/31/2000 (****)

And yes, ticket prices should be doubled since 1998.

go ahead and google gas prices 1998. Gas was at its lowest cost since the 1940's. Oil was below $10 a barrel.Turn this anger into

small venues = higher ticket prices. thats just the way it is. The base price for Jethro Tull when they played the Thousand Oaks civic arts center in California was over 100 dollars. And lets not forget that bands like the who and the stones often have a majority of seats that cost 100+ dollars for their tours. 60ish dollars isnt all that bad to be honest . .0

I almost put this same post when I responded! But he's the lead singer of Fugazi and Minor threat.
Someone who has never played in front of as many people as Ed hence the lower ticket prices. And I mean that as no disrespect because Minor Threat and Fugazi are both really cool bands.10/31/2000 (****)
