“It is curious that while good people go to great lengths to spare their children from suffering, few of them seem to notice that the one (and only) guaranteed way to prevent all the suffering of their children is not to bring those children into existence in the first place.”

I hate to sound generic, but "Born to Run" is my favorite. That song has a vitality that still sounds fresh 30+ years later. Also, that's one of the only songs that has made me cry - in a good way, I was going through some bad stuff and it came on and the tears started falling.

    Other faves:
Out in the Street (the version on Live in NYC gives me shivers every time)
    Night
    Jungleland
My Love Will Not Let You Down
It's Hard to Be A Saint in the City (GREAT lyrics)
    Independence Day
"As long as the music's loud enough, we won't hear the world falling apart."—Jubilee

At the moment I would have to say If I Should Fall Behind. I used it a few weeks ago as the song my father walked me down the aisle to at my wedding. I love this song.

5.) Trapped (well, his version...at the time of it's release, it's meaning was infinite)

4.) Tunnel of Love (just a great driving/singing tune)

3.) Rosalita (my first Bruce song that I loved)

2.) Thunder Road (got yelled at so many times slamming the screen door)

1.) Badlands (seeing my daughter's hair swaying back and forth as she was grooving to this song in the back seat while I was driving down the Jersey Turnpike just brought a proud papa to tears...especially when Clarence comes in and she screams "it's the Big Man!".
I love to turn you on

Thunder Road could, very well, be the greatest song every written, bar none.

Beside that, there's quite a few. No Surrender, Lonesome Day, and Rosalita are up there.

I finally saw the movie Reign Over Me yesterday and I was so blown away when I heard my favorite Bruce song, Drive All Night. I cried like a baby. It was an emotional scene and the song just took me back. In my single days when I was "smooth and strong", I would lay on the the floor in front of the speakers, drunk, and blast that song. I'm sure my roomie didn't appreciate it.

What is your favorite Springsteen song?

Beyond a doubt, (for me) it has got to be "Adam raised a Cain". Very cool song.
Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on The Creek......

Together we will float like angels.........

In the moment that you left the room, the album started skipping, goodbye to beauty shared with the ones that you love.........
