Just saw it for the first time. Could be the oddest appearance of a Pearl Jam band member in any medium ever.
Did Ed contact the director or did they call him up?

The filmmakers got him to do it.Can't escape from the common rule...
If you hate something, don't you do it too0 -
How would that be the oddest? It's Shakespeare compared to SINGLES.
The band in SINGLES watching the bees is the oddest.I shit and I stink. I'm real, join the club.
A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.0 -

Is that movie good?

I had low expectations going into it, but actually got quite a few chuckles out of it. And Pam from The Office is smokin' as his wife!!!0 -

that was great with he bees, ed's face was pricelessTour with fucking NOFX0 -
least he was just himself.. i would die if i saw ed acting as like, another person.. god damn that'd be weird.. which is what i originally thought when i heard he appeared in the movie.. but over all..it was a really funny movie. Wonder how much you pay someone who is on screen for like one 1/2 min.0

Because he was trying very hard not to laugh? That made me giggle when I saw it in theatres a hundred years ago...be philanthropic0 -

I can say, without hyperbole, that it is the best movie of all-time. It makes The Godfather look like utter crap.
Seriously, I love this movie.everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do0 -
I don't think C. Rielly(sp?) works in comedies. I think the movie was lacking, some funny bits but boring stuff too."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0

The version I saw didn't even have that line in it?
Thought that was odd.NERDS!0 -

Wrong. John C. Reilly might be the greatest comedic actor of our generation. Maybe of every generation. If the Earth were going to be hit by a giant meteor, and I had a seat on the only rocket ship out, I would give it up to John C. Reilly, so that future generations could enjoy his work.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

I saw this movie in the theaters and Ed's cameo was much shorter than the 4:20 clip posted in the previous link. After seeing this, I feel like I got ripped off. Fuckers."I'll end up alone like I began..."
"You need the patience of like a National Geographic photographer sitting underneath the bush in a tent, trying to get a picture of zebras fucking or something for the first time." -Eddie Vedder0 -
according to the directors commentary in the movie Ed nailed this on his first take.0

I thought the movie was funny. Ed's brief appearance was just icing on the cake.Chicago 2000 : Chicago 2003 : Chicago 2006 : Summerfest 2006 : Lollapalooza 2007 : Chicago 2009 : Noblesville (Indy) 2010 : PJ20 (East Troy) 2011 : Wrigley Field 2013 : Milwaukee (Yield) 2014 : Wrigley Field 20160

By the time the movie came out, it was as though they took all the funny out of it. And I was let down. I clearly had way too high of expectations.0
