What was the first riff or song that you first learned on the acoustic or electric? Everyone who plays remembers that one. No matter how good or bad you sound . Everyone got it? Good ill start it off...

  • first riff = Satisfaction by the Stones. Other riffs I learned right after I first got my guitar included Come As You Are and Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, Black Dog by Led Zeppelin (took a while to get that one up to speed, though), and Day Tripper by the Beatles.

First complete song = Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd and Norwegian Wood by the Beatles. I learned them on the same day. Actually, now that I think about it, I might have learned Knockin on Heaven's Door before those.

The first thing I learned in a lesson was a two octave C major scale, and the opening chord progression to Elderly Woman.
