So last year, I got an Epi SG Special. Never played it too much because the tuning sucked on it. I took it in last week and it seems like the factory put the bridge on too close so now, I have the get the bridge reset about a sixteenth of an inch back...good job Epi. I guess it's true-you get what you pay for($150 USD)

Yeah, you always have to be careful with Epi's or any entry-level guitar for that matter. It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win0

This is why I'd never buy a cheap guitar online. There are some decent entry level guitars out there, but the quality control is always a lot lower. That isn't to say there aren't some decent entry level guitars out there, but you have to sift through a load of rubbish before finding a half decent one.
I always try to play a load of the same model when I go to buy a guitar, that way you can suss out if a few of them are a bit off. When I got an epiphone dot I played about 9-12 different guitars before I found a decent one. A lot had fucked up necks, electrics and bridges.Paul

I got my strat squier offline and it sounds AMAZING(first guitar I ever bought). The SG was bought in the store and it's pretty fucked. I sent an email to Epiphone but I'm pretty sure nothing will happen.Grand Rapids '04, Detroit '06

I saw this band play friday night that was actually playing Epi Les Paul Standards. They had recently opened for Chevelle, won some "new band" award, had more than just 50w amps (lol) and were playing Epi's.0

yeah..I've got one. It was my 1st. I was just kinda surprised that a band who has invested in equipment etc, wouldn't invest in a true Gibson.
B/c as much as I like my Epi LP Std..it's not my Gibson LP0
