What's the best way to get the tone/effect that Mike has on his guitar during the chorus to "Present Tense" (studio version)?

    Well it's drop D so that helps give it that growl.

    Lots of reverb...

    other than that I'm not sure.. there's something unique about it but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe the guitar he used.

    i use alot of reverb, drop d tuning, some chorus, and a tiny bit of flanger

    besides phase/vibe/chorus, consider this:

    it always sounds to me like else he has a fixed wah position, low in the sweep (heel position) or that he might have rolled off all the tone control on his guitar.

    I don't know about Bell's but we got the Kraftbrau brewery which is a great place to check out some bands. The weather sucks too. I think it's about time for this stuff to melt. I gotta head out your way for the Incubus concert and Wrestlemania, hopefully I'll find my way out of Detroit. How's it goin out there?

    i think you mean "hope i find my way out of Detroit ALIVE!" Love this town.


    Weather most definitely sucks, but hopefully it won't hold you up. I haven't been a wrestling fan since i was a little kid, but my wife would probably strangle someone for wrestlemania tix. Sold out?? maybe i can swing a "wrestlemania for her, PJ at Lollapalooza for me" type deal.
