ibanez 8 string

A friend told me about this and I did a fast search for a picture of it. He told me the low string is going to be F??? If that's true, if you drop tune that to E, you have a bass since you just went a whole octave lower than a regular 6 string.

    surely if its a low f and you droped it to an E it would be same as an normal low E,if that makes sence.
