What kind of Tele was he playing on SNL?? Is there a certain kind that comes with a P-90 in the neck?

    His isn't a stock factory Tele, it's been modified (see that other thread).

    But there is one factory Tele in that configuration. The neck pickup isn't a true P-90, it's Fender's reinterpretation of it, but it's close.

    Of course, I wouldn't recommend buying one. They're kinda hokey. Get a standard Tele and do the mods yourself (or get a guitar tech to do it for you), you'll get better results.
    ...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
