mines was "Long Road" but just last night I did the whole of "Thin Air" from beginning to end including the small "dun de de dun dun... dun dun de dun dun...etc" part of the song (the one that gets fucked up on Benaroya Hall CD..
that made me super pleased with myself as i've only been playing for a few months (7 or 8) and have learned loads of stuff (mainly riff-wise, chords, etc)lately but that was the song from start to end in time with the original... i'm delighted
i dont know if Long Road should count as it genuinely is that easy, but it would be nice to hear from some of the more seasoned musicians on here what was their first PJ song they learned or the first solo they picked off..
Cheers

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I find RVM to be like a frickin endurance trial. My arm is killing me by the time I get through to the end, after the mini jam. And then, if you're not soloing, you can't stop as you have to hit the hell out of those chords!
I probably learned Elderly Woman all the way through first, and just learned Long Road. Don't know why I waited so long on that one, I probably remembered it, and how easy it was after hearing it on Scrubs last week!0 -
umm, Alive... minus the solo(
wah wah waaaah!!! ..........viking banjo hits of the 70's!

Mine was Alive minus the solo too. For full song it was Elderly Woman, cause its easy, for full song with solo, RVM too.0

But I can sing!« One man's glory is another man's hell.
You’re on the outside, never bound by such a spell.
Together in the darkness, alone in the light.

I’ll lead your angels and demons at play tonight......»0 -

I think cordouroy was the first song. I'd play some little riff for the solo part. The first song I really wanted to learn was Yellow Ledbetter. That was tough at the time."Tonight we're just gonna play you some good old American Rock and Roll." tom petty-7-15-050
