So if the ITW vinyl sold out in about an hour, can we estimate how many there were?

I'd say less than 2,000 for sure...based on the comparetive quiet around these boards at the time it went on sale, maybe even less than 1,000.
But that's just a guess.
The next question, of course, is whether the 7" bonus vinyl is the only thing differentiating it from the version sold in stores. The 10C usually does something more to make their version distinctive (ie the unique packaging of the 10C Avocado CD).
Also, is it possible that the retail version of the ITW vinyl is also limited? I asked my local indie store (which tends to know everything and get everything) and they said they had no idea the vinyl was to be released.
I remember a store-sold version of the 'Last Kiss' single was limited to only about 4,000 (?)....

I'd agree probably around the 2000. Maybe we could start a thread with a list of people who got one...uʍop ǝpısdn ǝɹ,ǝʍ 'punoɹ ʎɐʍ ɹǝɥʇo ǝɥʇ ןןɐ s,ʇı0

They were up for 12-14 hours, and people still had the nerve to complain that they didn't get one in that period of time. How 12-14 hours became 5 minutes over the past few years amazes me. "Fuck the talkin', let's start rocking." - E.V. 9-5-00 "Fuck the talkin', let's start rocking." - E.V. 9-5-00

I think there were less than 2000. 2000 is not VERY limited. And if I remember correct, the benny was not advertised as VERY limited, only limited.(?)
I guess 10c can give us an answer to this. Until they do, Im guessing between 1000 and 1500!I will swallow poison0

I remember that.... surprinsingly they were up for a long time as oppose to 5 minutes... I dont know exactly how long but I had no issues getting one, no crashing site, not temporarily outta stock..."Without the album covers, where do you clean your pot?" - EV0

as i recall, i placed my order for the Benaroya vinyl at ~4:15pm (Eastern) the day of the sale (June 21/04), which works out to 13 hours after the sale started,...and if i'm not mistaken the "Out of Stock" message appeared 15 minutes after i placed my order. thank God for the server/s crashing, and the temporary "Out of Stock" messages throughout the day To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. yeah, i guess thats correct.
so with this being very limited, i stand by my guess at around 1000 copies.
