ok, i got new strings for the junior les paul. my mistake i went to guitar center...they put the strings on, said everything was adjusted but since i had a tuner at home i could tune it then...could the bridge need to be adjusted? the top e string would not get in tune...the highest i could get the tuner to say was 5A,so i skipped it and was able to get the A in tune, then the highest i could get the D was 2B and...it snapped...so i have to get another set of strings (my fault for not buying spares)
does anyone have any idea which way to adjust the screws?

well, yeah...when i took out back out of the case it was really loose, i picked and slowly tightened the nut and it wouldn't get to the right string on the tuner and i kept pushing it cos it was getting close and it snapped...i stopped w/ the top string cos it was getting too tight but pushed my luck w/ the Dstandin above the crowd

hey...
pretty sure thats not a problem with the bridge or anything, cos the pitch is just determined by the tension of the string...
maybe a setting on your tuner is incorrect and it was tuning it in sharps or something?..0 -
well then push the bridge forward
can you post a pic?I wish my grass was emo... so then it would cut itself

they didn't stretch the strings, how ridiculous they wouldn't tune it, fucking assholes. I used to work at GC, no way I'd hand it to you if I didn't tune it, that's a lazy little shit he probably dosen't sell much either. The bridge may need adjustment, but try tuning it down and back up down and back up and then wait for an hour or so sometimes the guitar gets cold and the new strings just won't tune up properly. Just give it a few hours and try again. Sometimes it's just the individual strings that give you problems. In fact what I do when I run into that is to tune the entire guitar a half step down for about a week.My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0

My advice is to take it somewhere good for a setup and also change out the tuning pegs for a set of grovers. if its got the standard shitty plastic tuning pegs that most les pauls have then you'll want to get rid of those first. I had the same problem before I switched my LP over. Good luckOnly with our eyes closed can we truly see0

thanks, i have been trying to find a good shop somewhat close by
i did stretch the strings out...it'sjust weird b/c it's the same string that keeps breaking.
i took some pics, the full body shot came out too dark so i didn't upload it,maybe later i'll take another one
