Hey guys, i was looking at some stomp box housed tube pre amps and in part the Mesa V Twin & Hughes & Kettner Tubeman.
they both have a real pre amp valve inside them and was wondering if they are good as or better than a reg stomp box, like Boss / EH ect.
they do seem to be very expensive for what they are, but it looks like you can use them as direct recoding devices also.
anyone ever used either of these, or heard anyone using them?
i heard mike mccreedy uses the rotoshpere thing, for the leslie speaker emulation, which is also alot of rangarzy'$.
whats ya thoughts?
theres a couple of each on ebay at the mo and i'm tempted as i dont have the greatest fuzz / distortion sound at the mo.

I used to use V-Twins and they are great sounding but pricey. I like tube pedals because they are really responsive to your pick attack.
Here's one that's pretty nice. I've had a couple of these Ibanez Tube Kings

They have a tube in them that runs on low voltage, so it doesn't get really hot and the tube last for a long time. They have a GREAT overdrive and are realatively cheap.THey usually sell for around 80 to a hundred dollars US. They're getting rarer and rarer!Be kind, man

The best one I've ever played through is the Soldano Supercharger.
Budda has some nice offerings though, and the old BK Butler tubedriver is decent.
Either one of those might serve you well it just depends on what you want to sink in it.
Electro Harmonix has some great OD boxes too. It depends on whether you want to use them as recording preamps or overdrives.....
If you're looking for preamps KOCH has a great offering as well.
