Probably, the shopmanager said it sounded good though. The previous owner had put in a sort of extra gain boost or something like that. Weird... They also have a Fender The Twin (red knobs) for about the same price: 850 euros.

Well, I just went to the last one. A guy who has a shop full of metal and shred axes (Jackson, Cort, Washburn). He himself plays in a band that 'shreds', like Steve Vai, Satriani and all of that sort of music.

He is a technician mainly and he modifies and customizes any tube amp, guitar or pedal you bring in to whatever need or taste you have. And you don't have to be a metal head or a shredder yourself, to get service. He is a rare specimen on his own.

Every amp in his shop is modified. He works with Laney mostly, cause they are still analogue tube amps. As for guitars he also had some G & L - still has a G & L bass, which is really rare in Belgium. But they're hard to comeby, he said.

In a strange way, this was the most interesting visit I've had...

Interesting, I wonder if he uses Jacques pedals at all from France.

The gain boost in the AC-30 is a Top Boost Modification, a factory option on AC-30's. Favored by many of the greats.

That guy at the last shop is the kind of guy that is good to know. Especially if you ever need amp work done.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
