I love the Blues Junior and Pro Junior amps... They do break up nicely when you peg them at "12".
I've heard of Rivera amps, but never really had a chance to play on them. I've heard good things, but I don't think I could turn my back on Fender. Even my Marshall is on probation. I've always wanted to jam on a Bad Cat or Top Hat or Savage, one of those not-quite AC30 clones. Remember Stone's Savage from back in the day? Ooo, I almost forgot I was gonna show you guys this:

Sure, it's way the hell out of my price range, but it sounds so beautiful I want to cry....and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.0 -
yeah bassman. Lovely. Hey Ex. the Pro Jrs are cool but you may be able to find an old vibrochamp for the same price which is cool.
That bassman just looks like it sounds good. I love laquered tweed. My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -
The 2 Webers with 2 Jensens, all handwired, cloth-covered wire, the woodworking... that is truly one of the two amps of my dreams.
The old Champ Amps are pretty good, too. Of course, I'm a Vibro Champ fan... there's one in my local music store, a silverface, going for $350. I bought my '66 Blackface for $100!
Go to ebay and the local pawn shop/used gear stores, look for an all-tube Champ or Vibro Champ. The Pro Junior and Blues Junior can wait as backups....and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.0 -

exactly. Should end up at around 595 I would think. My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0

That's my amp!
Another good thing (in my opinion) is the tube rectifier. The tremelo is amazing as well. It's a recording dream......and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.0 -
Looking closer, that's not the original speaker. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. You can always get a Jensen P8R and swap that in there....and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.0

i can't see it being too different in tone to the vibrato channel on my deluxe reverb though.0

a lot of people (VHT, Soldano, THD) knock tube rectifiers saying they can get the same sound by faking it. Sure it's more reliable but the compression you get from a real GZ-34 or 5AU4 gives an amp that "bounce" that old fenders and vox/orange/matamp etc is known for. I love a tube rectifier and to be honest I just love tubes period I am "biased"

In a touring amp that gets bumped and jostled a lot, a solid-state rectifier would make sense, but you can't fake the sound of a real tube....and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.0

right. Soldano and VHT amps usually take a beating over thier lifetimes. If you have that kind of money usually you tour.My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0

I've only played on one Soldano amp ever, and was less than impressed. It was a combo amp with 4 x 10" speakers. Two channels. The clean was okay, but very bright. The dirty channel was aweful, though. In my opinion....and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.0

Soldano dosen't really build stuff for our Ilk.
However Warren Haynes has a killer soldano with mods out the yin yang to make it sound like he wants.
I'm not a big fan either. I like the classic stuff. Soldano is more modern its a refined better built streamlined Mesa triple rec. but they aren't my favorite either. My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?"
