Whats a random instrument to learn?

I got a musicians friend catalog with all these weird instruments in it. I wanna learn something new and weird, hopefully something you can pick up faster than guitar. Right now im looking at a lap steel. Any other suggestions?

    bongos, tamborine,sleighbells, the Triangle, those are really easy to learn. If you want a real challenge, get a turntable & play snippets of other peoples songs, & call yourself a DJ, there's a big market for that kinda thing.

    I play mandolin.

    I say go with the hammer dulcimer or if Bob were here he'd say gurkel. :)

    Dulcimer is pretty easy.....I have one and it's a lot easier to play than guitar. Plus there are no "wrong" notes.

    perhaps you could learn to tense your arse cheeks in order to prove different pitched farts, that would be awesome
