Ampeg closing US factory, moving to Vietnam

Anyone else hear about this. Guy at the local store told me this today. I'd believe them trying to move their solid state line over sea's to cut costs, and keep up with Fender, Peavey etc. But hopefully not the tube end of things.

    Look at jap strats...they kick the shit out of american ones. Asia has just as many or more skilled workers as the USA, as long as they use thier skills accordingly, and work in decent shops, it doesnt bother me.

    i was going to buy an eastman archtop a few months ago.

    they are making handcrafted solid top archtops for way less than what one could have built by a north american shop.....the guitars look and play fantastic......

    but in the end i couldnt buy one because of chinas human rights issues.

    i know its' my loss,and i can think of many flaws in my thinking,but all the same,i couldnt buy this guitar and feel good about it.

    i bought a bass cabinet from them.......a 15.

    if i ever decide to get a guitar amp,i'll look into one of those tweed tube amps.
