couldn't resist. i used to have one of these but it had a thin neck and wouldn't hold tune well. these days they have big necks and the vintage sunburst they do now is beautiful.

haven't even pulled the plastic off yet.

    I have one too! I think mine's a 2004 in Natural. I might change the p/us, because I find them a little flat, but I love it. She's so purty.

    Anyone have a reccomendation for a pickup change? I'm thinkin two Seymour Duncan '59s.

    my only experience changing humbuckers has putting 57 classics into an epi dot. it sounded good.

    the 57s being what come in ES-335s.

    Yes, anything with Lindy Fralins name on it is pretty damned good. Humbucker and Unbucker or even P92 if you want a Casino ES330 vibe.

    I also like Lollar (imperials) and harmonic design, but I'n not averse to the 59's either. If you want more of a stock 335 vibe from Duncan though... the Seth Lovers are the PAF (57 classic) style from Seymour.

    Personally I think Lindy Fralin has bested sliced bread.
    My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

    amazingly enough, this guitar is actually wired left-handed. reverse numbers on the knobs and everything. the pot tapers are correct etc. fender doesn't do that (they "wire" everything lefty but with right-handed pots. gibson proper doesn't (they just wire right-handed).

    only bummer is, all my guitars are wired right-handed so this is messing me up.

    still, kudos to epiphone. this is the first guitar i've ever had that's properly set up for a lefty control-wise.

    I just got my 18 watt Crate yesterday. I've been playing my es-335 lately and it's a great match for a Marshall style amp. It's become my go to guitar lately and Epiphone does a great job on the Sheraton.

    Keeponrockin, I have a 1982 Gibson ES-335 and it's the only guitar I have that I haven't felt the need to change anything. The '57 is the official pickup in them and they really fits the woody and hollow sound.
    I was thinking of putting a set of P-Rails in it to see how they work with the P-90 sounds, too, but I'd have to change the pots to push pulls, and nobody wants to hear me cursing at trying to redo the wiring harness with the F holes in those things.
    It involves planning, latex tubing to fit over the knobs and fishing line and some incredibly well put together streams of cursing when you drop something in the cavity! :)

    Changing the pickups is easy, though.

    Like Paco says, Duncan Seth Lovers are great as well as Fralins. Can't go wrong there.

    Another option are Stewart Mcdonald antiquities. I put some in a friend's guitar a couple of weeks ago and they're really nice pickups for what, $50 each!

    I was looking at the P-Rails too (I'm having my local tech change them out).

    What's the Duncan equivilant to the 57 Classic? Duncans just seem to be a little cheaper! What do you think of the P-Rails? I'd probably have them wired humbucker and P-90, I don't REALLY need single coil sounds. (of course, if I'm getting reguiar HBs, then im getting a tap put in).
