stupid impulse control.
used to have an AC15CC1 a couple years ago. the one with the cheaper cheaper. loved it but took it back from something else, can't even remember.
anyway, found another one today. this time with the alnico vox blue speaker and a huge discount (it's a little relic'ed).
still sort of wanted a british made one but couldn't pass up the deal and grabbed this one. the reverb still blows on it (as it did on the other one) but the tremolo and overall vox vibe is great. the SS rectifier is a bummer but it still sounds good.
it's fairly beat up but i don't really care. heavy as hell too.

it's much louder than i remember it too. louder than my 18W by a long ways though my 18W is really tame right now.
i changed the bright cap already to settle down the high end. a big improvement. also helped the reverb sound a little less tinny.
i do believe i will jig a cut control into the amp though.
edit: figured out how to put the cut control in. put the pot in the footswitch jack so no drilling and it's completely reversable. and it works very well.0 -
Good thing about getting the one you did and not a old british made one. You probably wouldn't allow yourself to make changes to a british one.
Just need to get the wifes student loans paid off so i can focus on toys again.E. Lansing-98 Columbus-00,03,10 Detroit-00,03 (1&2),06, 14 Cleveland-03,06,10 Toledo-04, Grand Rapids-04,06 London-05, Toronto-05, Indianapolis 10, East Troy (1&2) 11, Chicago 13, Detroit 14

It's why I like the clone version of old amps instead. Don't feel bad tweaking them. Oh and making what would of been a combo version in the original form and turing it into a head version to help keep things versatile.
Still a cool find, I'm never been one's for looks, the more warn out the better at times.E. Lansing-98 Columbus-00,03,10 Detroit-00,03 (1&2),06, 14 Cleveland-03,06,10 Toledo-04, Grand Rapids-04,06 London-05, Toronto-05, Indianapolis 10, East Troy (1&2) 11, Chicago 13, Detroit 14
