I have been playing for around a year now and I think I am ready to upgrade some of my stuff. Currently, I have a Mexi Strat, Marshall mg15dfx amp, crybaby wah, and a dod distortion pedal. I am currently thinking about either getting some new good effects (ts9, some compressor), upgrade my pickups, or getting a new tube amp. I have around $300, but if I were to get an amp I would spend in the $400-$600 range. I am hoping to start playing some gigs in the next year or so, so what do you guys think?
Well, it's one louder, isn't it?

amp is the best starting point.0

Amp.My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0

            Amp
That will make the biggest difference in sound. You might like your guitar a lot better after you plug it into a good tube amp.
Then you can refine your other stuff from there. Maybe a different overdrive, then maybe another different overdrive, pickups, then another guitar, another amp................:DBe kind, man

yeah get like a crate 120 wattThe most remarkable thing about you standing in the doorway, is that its you, and that you're standing in the doorway.
I write down good reasons to freeze to death in my spiral ring notebook. But in the long tresses of your hair--I am a babbling brook.0

deffinately an amp. may i suggest the Marshall AVT2000 range. absolutely amazing amps. the gain is jaw dropping and you can achieve so many sounds with it.seems that needlessly its getting harder0

            fender hot rod deluxe.
gets you into the tube game. gets you dual channels.
it's not a metal amp but it's got for rock/blues/pop etc.
it's clean channel is better than it's drive channel but they're both decent for a first tube amp.0

yeah I have been looking at the Hot Rod Deluxe. Also, I have been checking out the Peavey Classic 30 and Delta Blues, which are pretty cool, and also the 40 watt Traynor seems interesting. But I am starting to lean towards the Hot Rod.Well, it's one louder, isn't it?0

those are good choices. it'll pretty much just boil down to preference.0
