Tele pickup wiring?

I had a seymour duncan stacked humbucker (bridge) installed in my mex tele a few years ago. It was wired straight into the 3-way switch with both coils on, full-time.
My question is, would a push pot be the best way to wire it, so that I can split the coil pick-up? And, is that something that I can do relatively easy? I've replaced a couple pickups before, but nothing more that sodering new wires where the old ones were.

i put an on/on toggle switch in between the tone and volume control to do a series/parallel on mine.
i believe the diagrams that came with the pickup had an option for series/split/parallel using an on/on/on DPDT toggle.
anyway, it should be easy. i'll check that diagram tonight and post what i find.0 -
here we go.

i recommend using the on/on/on. the more sounds, the better.
just take the black wire to the 3-way switch rather than a volume pot.0
