Guitar Set Up?

I have never had my guitar set up. Got it off the rack 13 years ago and just started playing. Anyone know where I can get the basics on "setting it up"? This is a rare Ibanez VM1 Vinnie Moore sig. mod. It had an Edge bridge. Let me know.

    go to http://www.mrgearhead.com

    click on "fender" on the left side and it has a pdf to describe set-up procedure. should be applicable to other makes.

    I always prefer the professional touch, but the guy I use charges $100 for a setup/tuneup. If you care about the guitar, and don't want to mess it up (or feel doubtful about the process) find someone to give it a tweak. It'll cost, but it's better than messing something up.
    ...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
