Isn't Tremor Christ underrated? Not being on the greatest hits.. not being played even by the band.
I mean apart from absolutely loving this song it stands out in quality I think. It's just so complete, powerfull, poetic in the highest sense of the word.
so ...whats up with that

And then:
Once
RVM
Corduroy
DTE
Black
Elderly Woman
Nothingman
Better Man
Yellow Ledbetter
Aside from Once and maybe Nothingman these have all been played much more than most songs and have always been played regularily, they're the staples if you like.
It's true what you say Tremor Christ is fantasticbut when you look at it like this it's understandable why it and basically everything else didn't get on.

tremor christ is definatly my favorite pearl jam song and has been my ringtone for over a year...but...they have played it live before and it wasn't that great at all(it is kind of a hard song to play live), so i can understand why they don't play it live.i gather speed...from u fucking with me

Yes you might have a point there. It's hard to play.
I remember on the Mansfield bootleg ed sang the lyrics wrong ( ofcourse lol ) and he sang the last line deliberately " Turns the bow back, tows and... drops his lines"that was funny

I like the song, but if I'm not in the right mood, that ringing, better described as the repetitive short notes, can give me a headache! ...over and over and over.
I would love to hear a version with that element cut out, although I do appreciate the musical significance of it.0 -
BTW
when Vedder sings "the devil" you hear something in the back of the song. Very softly but disturbing if you have a headset on. It's a sort of screaming angrily or in panic. Anyone noticed that? If not, check it out
second... After the second (and last) time he sings the chorus "...still get big big waves" a sound starts, highpitched. I was very sure at first that it was Ed's voice, edited in .... its so pure. But now I've been thinking its probably Mike or Stone's guitar ... its really beautiful and simular to Ed's higher voice.
Alot of PJ's songs are like paintings in which you keep discovering new little things."Ransom paid the Devil, he whispers pleasing words.
Triumphant are the angels if they can get there first."0 -
Ive heard the lyrics of this song compared to "old man & the sea" before, and ever since then ive listened to the lyrics alot more. its great.
