    i pretty much agree. i absolutely love this song. eddie is such an amazing lyricist. the emotion he conveys in songs is unparalleled. he & they cease to amaze me.

    Definately a great song. Though I know alot of people don't really care for it.
    I love Otis Redding. Amazing. They just don't do it like that anymore.

    When he says "please say that if you hadn't gone now, I woudn't have lost you in any other way", how powerful is that? If they play that in London, I WILL CRY!..Why does she go away though? I would never leave Ed!

    Because she (or he) died. It's a death song.

    In fact, I think it is the sad conclusion to Army Reserve, to be honest. There's a reason those two songs are back-to-back on Avocado.
