What do you think about these lyrics???
Just brilliant!!! One of the first songs that hooked me to PJ...
"I know someday you´ll have a beatiful life I know you´ll be a star, in somebody else´s sky, but why, why can´t it be mine???"
Fucking beatiful, and sad at the same time...

It's also a song I've been hooked to EVER SINCE my existence as a PJ fan. There's so much hurt and anguish in the song, not ONLY because of the lyrics, but also because of how the song sounds...0

I agree and i think a lot fans would say the same. I liked the first 3 PJ songs i'd ever heard (Jeremy, Alive, Evenflow) but Black was the one that sucked me in. And of course, now I LOVE Jeremy, Alive, and EvenflowCamden I '06, Camden II '06, Bonnaroo '08, Camden I '08, Camden II '08, Philly Spectrum II/III/IV '09, MSG I '10, MSG II '10, Made In America '12, Wrigley '13, Brooklyn II '13, Philly I '13, Philly II '13, ...0 -

I love Black and have since the first time I heard it. The original from Ten breaks my heart everytime I hear it. Sometimes to the point of Ten if Im having a "day". I also like the version on Benroya Hall where the audience sings. Its awesome. Why Would You Want To Hurt Me?0

Probably The Best Song Ever!....from Every Band...."Every time I see the Spice Girls, it makes me want to try to fly by climbing my roof and strapping bricks to my shoes."0

Check out the thread I posted above in the title. It is posted in "The Porch." I don't think anyone has responded but I asked for people to post how long Ed held beeeeeeeeeeeeee at a show they were at. St. Paul 2003-19 seconds. And yes, hands down, Black is my favorite Pearl Jam song."My Cadillac's sittin in the back, it isn't me, I'm going home in my Galaxy"

Black is such a good love song.Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on The Creek......
Together we will float like angels.........
In the moment that you left the room, the album started skipping, goodbye to beauty shared with the ones that you love.........0 -
First, it's one of the most beautiful but sad songs I've ever heard. It breaks my heart everytime I listen to it, but I keep listening.. There aren't many examples, Manic Street Preachers' "You Stole the Sun from My Heart" might be one of them..0

This song gives me goosebumps every single time I listen to it. Mike's solos are so emotional and amazing every time this song is played.0

Exactly what I was going to say. Chills on top of chills is what I get. Beautiful song and Eddie's voice on the song has to be a match made in heaven.Where is Lowlight?0 -
I was going to say I think my favorite version of it is also the MTV Unplugged one. Ed's voice is so clear and emotional, and I love the simple acoustic accompanyment. That being said, I also love the more recent versions, with Mike's lengthy blusey guitar solos. Definitely an awesome song.
Dan"Butter hands" flew from her side? I wish I had butter hands. Mmmm, butter.0
