Muscial Genious at its finest? Not so much, but I do appreciate the song nonetheless.
I like the song simply because I can picture Ed when he wrote/recorded the song.
I've always pictured Ed, laying on the floor with his legs kicked up on the couch, surrounded by wine bottles, and an ash tray full of varrying substances, holding the achordian.
It just makes me laugh, thats all. Obviously he ment something by the song, and it just took a magical combination of controlled substances to help him get it off his chest.

For me, it just reminds me of Tom Waits, post-Swordfishtrombones, when everything seemed to go a little bit haywire in his brain... Not a bad thing, but it's certainly an acquired taste... Much like Bugs: 'Should I eat them?'Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0

Eddie has said that "Bugs" is a tribute to the Frogs. (In it's execution, not subject.)0
-
He also said that it was the best thing he ever wrote. He was being funny.0

I've always liked Bugs. Your idea of what he must have looked like when he wrote it is awesome.
I can see it.
I dunno, I guess I've always just loved the words. And come on, the accordian is pretty out there. My dad first introduced it to me in a drunken stupor.
"Bugs in the way I feel about you."Exponentially serving. Perpetually unnerving. Vehicle swerving.

i like it because it's a perfect capture of the Vitalogy album... maybe even better than a song like Whipping or Corduroy because of the way it's kind of weird for the sake of being weird. (i.e. they could've done that with guitars if they felt like it
).
i love it.Come on pilgrim you know he loves you..

Bugs is cool. Not only is it a "break" in the album, but it is a "creative outlet" as well. Creativity rocks! Expression rock! Rock on P.J.!"Music is excellent therapy."0

i look at bugs and hey fox...as the ultimate fuck you to the media and record producers...like when van morrison released full albums of jibber-jabber just to meet his contract obligations..."do i trick them?...i don't think they're that dumb" is a great line no matter what is going on in the background"I never make plans that far ahead"0

(I really do have bugs! Fucking ants!)
The accordian is first place for dorkiest, lamest, most boring instrument. But even Pearl Jam took that piece of shit and made a (sort of) catchy song.About 30 seconds into I start to really feel the accordian
Ah, the things only Pearl Jam can do

Haha, dude, that sucks. Been there! Lowe's sells this parimeter spray, in like a 2 gallon jug that you use all around the foundation. That is the ONLY thing that we've found that works. We were ant free for about 4 months.... maybe you could give that stuff a try? (I'll find the brand name for you if you want.... I'd buy stock in the stuff).0 -
I sometimes close my eyes and see Ed playing the accordian but it's not him who's saying the words....it's Chris Walken.Feels Good Inc.0

maybe give them some Irish Cream liqueur candies and get them drunk. If nothing else, it would be fun to watch them spin around in circles and finally pass out.Feels Good Inc.0

Actually I did enjoy watching them have a seizure when coating them with poison or whatever powder I used for ridding ants. That's fucked up, but I felt very bigDidn't stop their buddies though! I should charge rent!
I love how much I can relate to Eddie's lyrics
