What issues you believe repeat in PJ songs over the years?

I mean, there must be a few issues Pearl Jam keeps going back to... probably Politics is one... but I believe they are even deeper

It's easy to spot a Jeff written song from a mile away. He consistently writes about a man trying to find meaning. There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

There seem to be a lot of references and imagery to waves and the ocean. Not surprising if you know Eddie's love of the ocean and surfing.one foot in the door
the other foot in the gutter
sweet smell that they adore

Certainly Love is a reoccuring theme. Walking, animals, driving...body parts. Ive often thought about doing this thread because they certainly repeat theme's but you know thats life. Life seems to repeat quite often.Be excellent to each other0

I beleive they somewhat consciously try to mix things up so that they are not pigeonholed in anyway and this is what attracts me to them the most. They are nothing like how they were when they got started. They're a very good example of a band who's perfectly grown/evolved and yet somehow still remember where they're roots are planted. The only theme I recognize is their desire to rock out. I suppose every so often we get a glimpse into them as conscious humans of the planet earth, but those are personal subthemes.0 -
they have grown and evolved as people and musicians. im sure they still like to look back and play the old jams too. i am truly identifying with the terms loss and escape. i been bending for 2 days and my hands are shakyits ok0

Q: Huh?
A: The question was, what issues do you think PJ has has repeated over the years, or some such thing. They take risks, they thrive in the risk.

am i wrong or does eddie not write ALL the lyrics (except for mankind & inside job)? i believe when songs are "written" by other's it pertains to just the music.
