Apart from the obvious from Black, the following line gets me everytime. It's fucking brilliant!

"Saw things so much clearer,
Once you were in my rearviewmirror"

I'd also just like to say that Eddie is one of those guys that can sing the words "I love you" throughout an entire song and not sound cheesy. Same thing with Robert Smith. It's a talent these people have. You actually believe them, as opposed to *insert any pop artist here*, where their words are hollow and meaningless.

The sense of despair and lonesomeness and loss comes through in those phrases. I can almost see the woman he's describing. I think that "Dissident" is a song a writer could build a novel around.

Very true and very beautifully put...well, I love love love all of "I Am Mine", but that line really stuck out for me when I was fighting a breakdown and denying I had any signs or symptoms of depression...I remembered that line and cried my eyes out...

But I'm all better now -- and I still find that line significant and very true. Grieve when you have to, allow yourself to feel sad...
