The Joe Rogan Thread

Not for the majority. I would imagine the majority were actually annoyed when he weighed in. They tune into him to tune out. I’m sure some found it funny when he’d make fun of Biden, but when he had trump on, it turned an entertaining podcast into something serious that went places most didn’t want to go.PJ_Soul said:HughFreakingDillon said:
He has millions of people who watch him that aren’t subscribers. I used to be one of them. It wasn’t often I had 3 hours to kill on a couple dudes waxing stoned, but when I did, I often found it entertaining. And quite often actually informative. He used to have a wide range of guests who were experts in their field. Or just interesting celebrities who wouldn’t be asked the same inane celebrity questions. That’s what drew people to him; it was real conversations with sometimes unreal people.PJ_Soul said:HughFreakingDillon said:Disagree. Rogan could turn on trump and wouldn’t put much of a dent in his numbers. You have to remember the whole reason he got popular-being marketed as a free thinker beholden to no politics.Maga embraced him, but his core audience is so much bigger and diverse than that.
I doubt that myself. He doesn't have THAT many subscribers. He hovers around what? 20M subscribers on each platform, at most? A large number of those are repeat customers, who just subscribe to him on every platform they use. It's not like he has 150M people listening to him or whatever. I think a huge portion of his audience are indeed Trump supporters (whatever else they may also be, like conspiracy douches, climate change deniers, libertarians, etc).He had a massive following way before the politics took hold. He mostly had people on talking about interesting subjects; believe me, I’m no conspiracy nut, so if that’s all it was, I wouldn’t have watched. That was actually a pretty small portion of the topics he’d cover. And usually only when the podcast was a couple of his knucklead friends or mma fighters. As annoyed I was at his endorsement of trump, I will never believe it was for money or subscriptions. The guy is rich AF. I really think he can just be a meathead who doesn’t fully grasp his own reach nor how destructive he can be with just the wrong guest.
Yeah, but that was then and this is now. Don't you think shit has changed for him and his listeners since he did get so political and everything??Of course there are the MMA fans that watch him that seem to overwhelmingly lean MAGA, or at least the ones that attend the fights are, I can only speak anecdotally, EVERY SINGLE ONE of my MMA watching friends are liberals. And they also watched him from time to time. Unfortunately, also think his comedy is funny. You can’t win em all.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
I think you’re giving him too much credit in his ability to read the room.gimmesometruth27 said:joe will not turn on trump because he does not want the death threats.
simple as that.Having watched him quite a bit, one thing you’ll notice he says a LOT is how surprised he was at an event or a public reaction to something. Something everyone else saw coming. No chance he thinks these things through.I was surprised this time that he came out saying publicly that he’s concerned for the security at UFC Freedom 250. But this is also analysis on a macro level, not something that only involves his own influence.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
He does not believe in white replacement theory.Halifax2TheMax said:gimmesometruth27 said:joe will not turn on trump because he does not want the death threats.
simple as that.*The following opinion is mine and mine alone and does not represent the views of my family, friends, government and/or my past, present or future employer. US Department of State: 1-888-407-4747.
Or maybe he believes in things like “white replacement theory” and that immigrants need to go by any means necessary? He, along with many others, normalized the unnormalizable and is a POS. Much like Rushbo, giving platforms to long rejected concepts and ideas. “But we need to hear them out!” Ummm, no, we don’t.
He’s one of these knuckleheads that thinks it’s ok to make racist jokes or videos because a) he has black friends and b) under the protection of comedy, but I don’t believe he’s inherently racist. He’s just an idiot.Ben Bankas is a real racist comedian. Bothers me how popular he is (and that he’s Canadian).Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
if i were iran i would blow that event to kingdom come. get rid of the leaders and the majority maga people in attendance. that would be my first target here in the us.HughFreakingDillon said:

i do believe that joe has heard of people getting death threats from maga for speaking out against trump. and i do believe he is scared to speak out more than he has. he helped create this monster and now he could be threatened by it."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

Someone that’s seen enough of your posts to think that you’d like Trump and “MAGA people” dead that badly. I mean really, what type of American starts off a sentence with “If I was Iran…” and then throw out a hypothetical terrorist attack on the White House?2000: Camden 1, 2003: Philly, State College, Camden 1, MSG 2, Hershey, 2004: Reading, 2005: Philly, 2006: Camden 1, 2, East Rutherford 1, 2007: Lollapalooza, 2008: Camden 1, Washington D.C., MSG 1, 2, 2009: Philly 1, 2, 3, 4, 2010: Bristol, MSG 2, 2011: PJ20 1, 2, 2012: Made In America, 2013: Brooklyn 2, Philly 2, 2014: Denver, 2015: Global Citizen Festival, 2016: Philly 2, Fenway 1, 2018: Fenway 1, 2, 2021: Sea. an american that can see the conflict from both sides. an american that can see that we started this at the urging of israel. an american that knows that we had a perfectly fine deal with iran that trump blew up so he can bomb them and negotiate for the same fucking deal we just had. forgive me for not strapping on my maga hat and running up and down my street yelling "usa usa usa!!!!!!"Ledbetterman10 said:Someone that’s seen enough of your posts to think that you’d like Trump and “MAGA people” dead that badly. i can see that we started this conflict. trump has insulted all of our allies. trump has even insulted you, his supporters multiple times, and they collectively say "thank you may i have another?"
i do not wish "maga people" dead. i just want them to reap what they have sown so maybe the next time they have a choice between a grifting felon and another candidate they may pause to ask themselves "how is this vote going to hurt me and my family?"
nice try, guy. i want my country to win, but with republicans in charge, time and again they have proven that we can't.
now if you will kindly stay on topic, i am sure everyone here would appreciate it.
