I am obseesed with this song. I hadn't heard it in forever and now I can't stop listening to it. Sorry if a thread like this has been posted before...Anyway LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!

like an angel, fly over your house
like an angel, pass out wishes
like an angel, i will move the arrow
like an angel, i live alone
i'm not livin' what was promised
i am close but can't enjoy
oh i'm not dyin'
oh i'm so tortured cuz i see all
tortured, and all i cannot do
tortured, all i should have done
tortured, while i occupied a man
i'm not livin' what was promised
i am far from glorified
oh i'm not dyin'
oh i'm not alone
mind is not a celestial state with idle hymns of praise
time is short, i have an appointment at noon, at noon in hell
across the waste of space and fields of air, i glide alone at night
oh please please think of me cuz i'm, i'm by your side
i'm by your side...i'm by your side oh
i'm...i'm right in front of you...i'm by your side
"The fat man walks alone"

It was the 1993 Fan Club single, the A-side.

Ohmygod, I may have it, then. I joined in 1993 so maybe it's stashed somewhere with all the other Pearl Jam vinyl I can't listen to.

Why are some songs only on Import? I've heard the phrase "Japanese Import Only" and now "Italian Import." This must be a collector's dream. I'm not a collector, at least not yet, and I want to learn how to get some of the hard-to-find stuff or rather imported stuff. How do you know what's out there? Is there a website specifically for imported albums? Is it mostly available second hand or on Ebay or other auction places?

The 1994 Italian "No Fuckin' Messiah" (for there have been a couple of releases by that name) is an unofficial boot. I have it. These unofficial releases tend to turn up at record fairs and the like, but they're getting rarer. They were mainly distributed in the period before Napster, other P2P and BitTorrent, and were for a long time people's main way of getting their hands on rare material. Now, I suppose they'd turn up on the online sites you mentioned, but it's still worthwhile to peruse record fairs when they come to town.

Thanks, Mr. Carrots! I haven't heard of a record fair, but I'll ask around here to see if there is one. I don't have a record player, so hopefully they have rare cds, too.

  • Exactly. Angel by Robbie Williams Britain's best loved song of all time? Angel by Pearl Jam alone wipes the floor with the talentless cunt.

Well, that's what I mean, a CD Fair. Just showing my vintage there. ;)

He actually played guitar on it and composed the music, I think. I'm pretty sure the words are Ed's.
