Over 1,800 Starlink satellites are leaking radio signals – and they're drowning out the cosmos.
Space should be silent, especially in the radio frequencies astronomers use to study the early universe. But that silence is being disrupted.
Using a telescope array in the remote Australian desert, scientists detected more than 112,000 unintended radio emissions from 1,806 Starlink satellites. Some of the signals were 10,000 times stronger than the faint cosmic whispers researchers were trying to detect.
The interference showed up in 2.4 million full-sky images, revealing a growing problem. Because these radio signals are unintentional, they fall outside current space regulations – a major blind spot as thousands more satellites head to orbit.
Astronomers warn that without better shielding or smarter design, we could lose our ability to hear the cosmic dawn – the faint radio echoes of the first stars and galaxies ever formed.

Comet Lemmon (C/2025 A6) will be visible to the naked eye until it November 11th in the evening and morning. It already reached it's closet point to earth (0.71 AU ... 1 AU equals distance from the Earth to the Sun) on October 21st.This excerpt from StarWalk website explains where and when to see it ...
Where to See Comet Lemmon Tonight in the U.S.
Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) will be well visible in the evening sky from October 18 to November 12. During this period, its brightness will range between magnitude 3.8 and 4.8. To the naked eye, the comet will look like a dim star with a faint blur, while through binoculars or a small telescope, it will appear as a small hazy patch with a bright core and a short tail pointing away from the Sun.
For example, in New York on October 27, after sunset and the end of civil twilight (6:26 p.m. EDT), Comet Lemmon will be about 30° above the western/southwestern horizon. The comet will set around 9:05 p.m. EDT.
For comparison, in Los Angeles on the same evening, after the end of civil twilight (~6:30 p.m. PDT), the comet will be about 29° above the western horizon and will set around 8:49 p.m. PDT. Thus, even on the West Coast, observing conditions will be quite similar.

Remember two years back when a couple of astronauts were stuck in space and we were being told everything is OK and they are working through some issues ... that turned the 10 day mission into a 286 day ordeal? Well, being stuck in space was the last of their issues ... the Boeing Starliner lost thrusters while docking with the ISS!!! The astronauts lost control .... Mission Control did what I do when my iPhone is acting up ... they turned the power off and back on and it worked! If they missed the dock, they most likely would have died in re-entry to earth.NASA has classified the Boeing Starliner as a "Type A Mishap".The Challenger and Columbia shuttle disasters were also classified as "Type A Mishaps"The Boeing Starliner program is also $2,000,000,000.00 over budget. I'm trying to decide if I should spend $70 of a Resident Evil game tonight ....Holy schnikes! Here is the official report (summary ... NASA really hates Boeing):Astronauts recount of the mission:Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0

Nothing good about SpaceX, nothing. Space? Or interest in outer space in the context of “one small step by humans, one giant leap for humanity”, we should all be on board. That ship left moons ago. Gimme Carl Sagan or gimme Neil daGrassie Tyson. Elongitaint and Bozos don’t have humanity’s interest in mind. Bad news for the Artemis Program to return to the moon ... a crewed landing attempt has been scrapped for the Artemis III mission this year ... earliest will be 2028. They are working thru serious issues with leaks and a possibly flawed heat shield design for the re-entry to earth. The NASA chief also said the launch schedule is unrealistic and causing burn-out of the engineers working on the mission.

If you are looking for inspiration on what we are able to achieve as a species, this still blows my mind that SpaceX can launch a rocket into outer space and have the booster return to earth 10 minutes later and land exactly where it took off from. Amazing.
