For the love of 'Bee Girl'

Bee Girl, you're gonna die
You don't wanna be famous, you wanna be shy
Do your dances alone in your room
Becoming a star will become your doom
Bee Girl, be a girl
You know time is long, and life is short
Begin to live while you still can
Believe in nothing, believe me
Those who can be trusted can change their mind
When the anxious is the present, unwrap your gifts, take your time
Everything you imagine needn't be stuck in your mind
Bee Girl, be a girl
Love this
You don't wanna be famous, you wanna be shy
Do your dances alone in your room
Becoming a star will become your doom
Bee Girl, be a girl
You know time is long, and life is short
Begin to live while you still can
Believe in nothing, believe me
Those who can be trusted can change their mind
When the anxious is the present, unwrap your gifts, take your time
Everything you imagine needn't be stuck in your mind
Bee Girl, be a girl

Deep amongst my archive of mp3 cd's from 1996 I have the Bee girl bootleg song, loved it and I love it still as well. Nice simple song with some great lyrics."It comes in a 8-pack where's the other 7. We've got band member up here they're dry ... We'd like some more beer, beer for the band and all our friends. Let's go." - Vedder (2005.09.22 Halifax)

All I know is what I read in this interview with Eddie Vedder
(http://www.monkeywrenchradio.org/radiowaves/19961103.html):
DJ : Eddie, anything in particular to add to that song?
Eddie
Um. No, the Bee Girl, she was this little girl who was nine years old in a video. I saw how ... um, there's no other word for it, how obnoxious she was and she loved being a star. I knew it wasn't going to last, and my heart went out to her. I was just trying to tell her, man that ain't the most important thing in life. It can't be you're gonna die. (laughs)0 -
i first heard this song years ago on the internet. it was of really bad quality, probably because of my computer, but i was just in awe of it. it was so odd, yet so sweet. anyways, i was really hoping it would be on lost dogs, though i didn't expect it to be. i was so excited to see it listed at the end of the track listing. i love the little oddities that they do.Another habit says it's in love with you
Another habit says its long overdue
Another habit like an unwanted friend
I'm so happy with my righteous self0 -

It's the girl from the video to Blind Melon's "No Rain"
It's a chubby little girl who gets on stage and does a little tap dance and is laughed off stage, then she mopes around for the rest of the videoOne time I was trying to print a picture of me so I could give it to a friend to cheer him up after he was diagnosed with cancer, but the printer jammed, and my friend died.0 -
wow, people are getting to hear Bee Girl on tour
that seems awesome to me
wish i was there0 -

AgreedI love this song because it's so different to their other material. They seem to laugh a lot during hte songs on Lost Dogs too. Don't Gimme No Lip and Bee Girl both have the singers laughing or chuckling, it's great!

Rockin' out to Creadles0 -
I heard him sing the bee girl song on rockline about ten years ago. The same rockline in which Eddie gave out his phone number at the end of it.
If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this0
