I think Darnold’s “redemption” (and that of Daniel Jones and Baker Mayfield) just shows what shit organizations can do (or not do) with a QB. There are probably long gone dudes who could have succeeded in a better system. I like Brock Purdy but would he have done anything with the Jets, Raiders, etc?

Justin Fields at THEosu - 63 TD, 9 INT. sure the competition wasn’t NFL, but he wasn’t NFL either. Is he really as bad as he looks or is it coaching (especially at CHI and NYJ)?

What was your wager and odds again ?
I ended up winning $700 of of a $20. Would've won $1400, but I hedged my bet. I'm fine with it!

The Darnold redemption angle is a little over the top.  He did lead the league in turnovers.

he seemed to be gaining confidence in Pittsburgh in those handful of early games before getting benched.

Sam Darnold may have to pay the State of California $250K for his $178K SB win bonus .... So a net loss of around $70K.  For winning.  Awesome happy fun times in the land of sunshine.

I would forgo the bonus and pay someone $70K to focus only finding ways from keeping the state of California from taxing me.  Now this seems illogical to me, but logic left town a long time ago.

I've had Giordano's in Chicago. Giordanos is pretty similar, but there are some differences. There is more crust on a GIordano's pie. It comes further up the side. Lou's is not that deep for deep dish. I believe that Giordano's puts more cheese in there as well. I remember them saying each deep dish has a pound of cheese. I'm pretty sure that Lou's has 8 oz cheese for a 10 inch pie. Both are good.

I read this and it doesn't make sense.  When we traveled for work out of state you could file taxes within the state you lived in or the state you worked depending on your permanent residence status.

Did something change over the past 10 years?  This is also why you pay a tax person to do them for you.

    Yeah, I believe so.
I can let the CPAs answer, but I think Wayfair vs SD changed a lot of the ways that states looked at collecting taxes based on items sold (delivered or in Sam's case, work performed) in their states.
When covid happened and the states were broke they started reaching out to businesses to threaten/squeeze them.
Have some stories about how this happened to our company and the $$ it cost, but I think the answer is yes.

Guessing Sam pays someone to help with his money.  (Hope so!)

La Signora Abruzzo is a tax accountant and states gouging out-of-towners for tax money is very much a bipartisan hobby.

Back on this, so when I did file out of state, mind you this is over 10 years ago, my resident state would come after me for taxes.

I would write them a nice letter stating that I do not reside in that state, it is only an address for mailing purposes.

That would always do the trick.
