With AD and Trae Young they are now big competitors to win the 2021 playoffs.

Just read that Street Clothes has a $63M player option in 2027-28.

AD when healthy is one of the best players on the court.  Only problem is  he's made of glass...

Trae Young I never thought was that great.  He had some flashes.

If (and it's huuuuuuuge if) AD and Trae were to both be healthy next season, combined with the Wizard's current young players and a likely high draft pick in the upcoming draft (which experts say is one of the best ever at the top, 5 or 6 guys who could be #1 in other years), Washington could suddenly be contenders in the Eastern Conference.
Doubtful both (probably neither) has a healthy season but worth the swing, they didn't really give up much.
    This weekend we rock Portland

The NBA draft has been terrible at guessing these 1 and done players. So there are a bunch of IF's in there.

There are always ifs at the top of the draft, even when players stayed four years, but there are a handful of supremely talented kids this year. Which ones will reach potential is of course an unknown but having a top 5 pick this year is like having a top 2 pick in most years.

the ASG was better than years past but that’s a low bar. I still lost interest after the first two “games.”

So i heard it was. Better than the pro bowl, that is the worst.

Only thing i watched from the all star weekend was the celebrity game. Which was kinda entertaining I suppose. Especially when they had Tacko Fall against some of the shorter celebs.

danny ainge is running a master class on tanking. JJJ and Nurkic with convenient season ending surgeries. for all the outrage, I get it. FA’s are never gonna come to Utah. we’ll see next year how this works out. it could be good or it could be the (failed) process 2.0.

You see this all the time in the NBA. Nobody wants to be in Mil, Min, Utah etc during the winters or a small market in general.

winter might have something to do with it (altho it’s 60 here today) but I’d bet SLC and the state of Utah have the whitest population in the NBA (OKC might be close, don’t know). Brothers don’t think they’d be comfortable here and it’s kind of true. Donovan Mitchell had a tough time when he dared talk about George Floyd. Even if it’s not overt racism, there’s not a lot in SLC that feels like “home” to a lot of these guys.
