You Are is one of my favorite PJ tracks, and Reissy poses an interesting question. The choice of You Are is even more intriguing - Unfortunately, I am in the camp that MC written tracks will be shelved... Most of them became rarities after their album premieres. I'd love to be wrong.Shaindli1 said:
I get your point, but nothing exciting about that particular song.Reissy said:What's the most exciting song PJ could open with on the first show w/ the new drummer?
My answer: YOU ARE - deep cut, hard to pull off live, Cameron-written track that would truly show nothing is off the table.
I would love to see the new drummer tackle full WMA, The Dave A version.Randall's Island, NY 9/29/1996, Randall's Island, NY 6/8/1997 (Ed and Mike), Jones Beach, NY 8/23/2000, Los Angeles, CA 7/10/2006, Hartford, CT 6/27/2008, Los Angeles, CA 10/6/2009, San Diego, CA 11/21/2013, Los Angeles, CA 11/24/2013, MSG, NY 5/1/2016, Seattle, WA 8/10/2018, Los Angeles, CA 5/6/2022, Los Angeles, CA 5/7/2022, Camden, NJ 9/14/2022, St Paul 8/31/2023, St Paul 9/2/2023, Las Vegas 5/18/24, MSG NY 9/3/24, Philadelphia PA 9/9/24, Ohana CA 9/27/24, Atlanta, GA 4/29/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/16/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/18/250 -
I’m no expert but I assume the band will have to pay royalties whenever a MC song is performed live? I doubt it will influence the song selection (they still play Go quite a bit, for instance) but you never know.JG242853 said:

Wait so, would a new drummer get them to dive into other songs they never do? Would we ever hear Get Right again live? I love that song too.JG242853 said:

I felt the set lists last year were among the safest and least exciting ever. Shows were great and of course there were some surprises but overall, nothing compared to past tours. I doubt that gets any better with a new drummer. Not anytime soon at least. But I’d love to be proven wrong.0

here's my take. 100 Pacer is in the know to some degree. He definitely has read your post/question and has decided to ignore it. Why?, well not because he's rude, my guess is because he knows something about something and feels its best to not say anything at this point. Now if he actually knew nothing, then my guess is he would have just said it, IDK. Just trying to read between the lines...Williston said:@100 Pacer any potential EV or PJ tour info?0 -

The European ones especially. (No inside info, but you might be on the right track for all I know.)Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
Agree. I haven't had any fomo since 2023. The setlists were pretty structured last year without many surprises and without digging very deep into the catalog. I hope that changes or at least that they play some places that they haven't been to in years. Mike has commented many times recently that he hates when Ed changes up the setlists last minute? That was always the appeal to me, the spontaneity. Obviously easier when they play more than a few shows at a time and could get into a real groove. Probably in the past now.nicknyr15 said:I felt the set lists last year were among the safest and least exciting ever. 100% agree, same with 2024. Shows are shorter and the sets predictable. My last great show was Camden 2022. But that is why I keep going, because you never know when that will happen.nicknyr15 said:I felt the set lists last year were among the safest and least exciting ever. Pacer is a good source of info, but last fall people dunked on him because that EV tour didn't materialize. I wouldn't blame him if he chose to be tight lipped now.DEGBTI said:

But I'll be happy if he drops us a few hints when he can.#Grievance20250 -
runstaples said:The only drunk people ive had to deal with was at MSG last year in the stands. Every time Eddie would start talking about something theyd yell for him to shut up and play a song. God that pissed me off.
It's these idiots who Eddie should play something like Out Of My Mind or U for.
Gad, I remember a post about someone overhearing "What about that song Jeremy Spoken...they didn't play it" and it was right after Tenadelphia just ended.
To paraphrase a Simpsons line: "Stupid EvenBros need the most attention."

Elderly Woman is a near-staple. Heck, royalties didn't prevent most the "album shows" from happening.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

Just so you know some of those dates like The Gorge and Fiddlers Green are held 2-3 years in advance and are the same (give or take a day or 2) every year.Kwieneke said:
Funny how DMB gets a tour together every year like clockwork with tons of dates. Not to mention how many people they have on stage. No doubt they are all in on touringJuneNCash said:After the disappointment release of the 2026 Dave Matthews Band summer tour, I sure hope PJ announces US tour dates soon
In other words the framework of the annual summer tour is in place each year and 2-3 years in advance.
The pop acts are notorious for this. I figure it's because a "flavor of the year" might have lost some of their popularity several months later.
October: "Such pop artist is going on tour next summer! The presale starts tomorrow using code ALBUM_NAME or SUMMER_TOUR" or some equally-generic code.
Pearl Jam has usually been the opposite. Tour announcements are generally in the few months before, not the few seasons before.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

Ya never know. The general consensus for the first post-covid song was something like Release or Long Road, but they came out playing a bunch of Gigaton songs.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
