Thought this goose was in the pond. couldnt be sure driving to and from work. was intending to check on it this morning. had freed itself and made its way up to ground level. I moved it to a field on our work property adjecent to the retention pond.have a mix of oats and grapenuts ceral , sliced grapes and some birdseed to provide a food source. taking a jug of hot water to try and free the ice from its feathers. we did have a bright sunny day today, but only 20 degrees. tomorrow its getting in the low 30's.

Didnt make it. Sun melted almost all of the ice. It was a major effort to free itself from the pond....

Oh man, that is so sad.
Thank you for trying. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
So sad. Nature can be cruel. So nice of you to try to help.mickeyrat said:Thought this goose was in the pond. couldnt be sure driving to and from work. was intending to check on it this morning. had freed itself and made its way up to ground level. Coyotes are so amazing. Very high on my list of favorite wild critters."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

As I dive into a few nature books. Reminds me...nature may seem cruel to us as caring human beings. To the natural world it is just the birth, living, playing, suffering, dying, recycling your remains, reborn in the grass, eaten by the insects, eaten by the birds, fertilizing the future...
Eternal life.
Just a few thoughts
Sad to see an animal or anything die. Just a different way at looking at death.
Now where our spirit energy goes, I have no clue. I like to think when I make an impression on someone, that gets into them and they may pass that smile on to someone else.
Who the f..k knows!
Love you all0 -
Im having to temper guilt for not looking in to it far sooner than I did.PJ_Soul said:Oh man, that is so sad.
