    I should also apologize to everyone here as well for being quick to getting irate.  I've got some really bad chronic pain issues going on that also heavily interfere with sleep.  But that's not excuse for me being irate.  I'm very sorry. (And I'm seeing another specialist today, so maybe I'll be getting some help... I hope.)

    I don't even know who had an issue with what Chappelle said, lol. I just know someone appeared to. In any case, I was speaking generally! ;) 
    Chronic pain is the worst - sorry you're not feeling well. 

    The issue for some was that all of a sudden, for the left, racism didn’t matter. They didnt even realize what Chappelle did was racist.

    Gervais presents as a nihilist/anarchist. He says he doesn't care about politics and just wants the funniest "taboo" joke. Because he mocks everything (death, cancer, God, the rich), some people view his attacks on the left as just part of a larger "nothing is sacred" philosophy.

    Maher presents as a disappointed parent. He frames his attacks as a way to "save" the Democratic party from itself. This makes his criticism feel more like a political lecture, which often irritates progressives more than a comedian just trying to be "edgy."

    Its more that he is punching up when he says that (you know because of historical racism and subjugation, etc that whites did to blacks) vs say the trans issue where people are punching down on a community that has been marginalized and one where people are actively working daily to eliminate them.

    Correct. It was decided in a razor thin majority vote (the trans vote put it over) at the most recent LOW (Leftists Of the World) meeting in Zagreb. 

    The committee considered a rebrand after Hillary’s unfortunate “when they go low…” comment, but as everyone knows, liberals can rarely get their shit together and get anything done, the vote was a stalemate, and rebranding was abandoned.
