Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), a leading sponsor of the law requiring the Trump administration to release the full Jeffrey Epstein files, said that the Justice Department is “grossly” violating its legal obligations. https://trib.al/T2vKXeY_____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

It’s hilarious that you think this is a winning issue for Republicans. Also hilarious that you think the Ds have any interest in rallying around Clinton. You obviously are reading the right wing talking points, and like Trump, think this is some advantage. It isn’t. Everyone knows that Trump is in as deep as anyone, and no selective release will change that narrative.Lerxst1992 said:Halifax2TheMax said:* The following opinion is mine and mine alone and does not represent the views of my family, friends, government and/or my past, present or future employer. beaten to a pulp again by the Rs lol. But yeah, you’ll outsmart them soon. Yay, Speaker Jeffries next year!! The Rs will figure out a way to make those investigations look bad also lol. Will it be a victory when Massie and Ro draw up impeachment articles against Bondi? Doubt it.You missed the point, which was, it’s NOT a winning issue for Dems. Eleven years of trump losing sexual related Court cases and caught graphically on hot mics, and dems still don’t get it. And yep, the Rs survived two impeachments, so that didn’t work either. That’s why I used to support all this stuff, but learned since , voters don’t give a crap.0 -

I’m not sure how harping on the Dems banging the Epstein drum is a negative when they’ve released pictures of Bubba with young hotties on his lap, while the candidate and now CCOOTWH promised full transparency and a full release of the files but has redacted full pages, and has his base up in arms and repub members of Congress calling for AG Bondage to be charged with obstruction. They know this hurts them in the midterms with their base, the ones who want this out the most and thus far they’re not seeing a rush to defend Bubba or any of the perps by Dems, just CCOOTWH spewing more deranged word salads. Net positive for dems.
“A national message for 90%”? Doesn’t work that way as all politics is local. What we’re going to see are Dems pushing the made up term the of “Democrat scam of ‘affordability’” in a local sense while pointing out that their local repub member of congress voted against every piece of legislation during the Brandon crime family’s reign and the first year of the current administration, and how those “no” votes fucked them. That’s the relentless hammer that’s going to pound down on the voters at a local level from about March through to November. Pointing out the other horrible shit, boat strikes, ICE raids, abandonment of Ukraine/NATO, etc, will play but in microcosms of districts and states. There’s not a “one size, fits all” approach to politics anymore for a whole host of reasons.
You’re seeing the tide turn when moderate Repubs like Mittens post editorials in the WSJ saying Ronny Raygun’s trickledown economics have failed and it’s time for repubs to come up with solutions. Dems have been saying that for 45 years. You also see it in Maggie Three Names and Elaine StiffNecks resignations and not running again. The cumulative effect, I hope, is that Dems retake the house and pick up two senate seats while holding all their current seats. Flipping the senate comes in 2028.
However, both the midterms and 2028 are eons away in political time and a shit ton can change between now and then. Plus, the ‘Murikkkan people have the attention span of gnats. A lot can happen and likely will, and it depends on the dem candidate run in the district and state races. But there’s no “national message” that needs to be formulated and shared by the DNC. Those days are over. And the 35-42% of CCOOTWH’s base? Don’t even bother trying to appeal to them, unless you’re a Nazi too. And Dems are better than that.
Regardless of what happens and how it turns out, it’ll all be the dems’s fault.
You’re claiming that political parties can’t nationalize a message to win midterms? Ha! Good luck explaining at least four midterms it worked, Contract with America, Six for ‘06 , 2010 Tea Party and The Resistance in 2018. Wow! All the way back to 1994! Amazing but I’m surprised you didn’t go all the way back to the Ford fall down and go boom administration for your political analysis but I’m not surprised you went back and compared successful repub campaigns when the issue you brought up, and continue to bring up, are the Dems. Oops! I won’t bother wasting my time schooling you on why that’s a false equivalence and comparison. And your most recent example is from 8 years ago. An eternity in the time of politics. You are doing it again. Why do you all need to lie about my comments to prove your points?I referenced 1994 true but I also referenced 2006 2010 and 2018. I referenced successful midterms from both parties, a balanced comment, and didn’t reference the last midterm because it was basically a tie. You were saying all politics for the midterms as local and you’re lying about my comment to cover up the inaccuracy in yours. I’ll really miss this place.0 -
So I did interpret your comment correctly. You are arguing that this is a net benefit to the R’s. It isn’t. You think that Clinton and Mick Jagger being a part damages D’s. It doesnt. There’s a reason Trump had fought this every step of the way.Lerxst1992 said:mrussel1 said:

The difference is that the Dems want everyone in those files to be prosecuted if there is the necessary evidence regardless of their political affiliations.mrussel1 said:

Today observers caught that for all that the Department of Justice had omitted materials the law required they produce, Justice Department staffers had inserted unrelated material: a photo of former Democratic president Bill Clinton, pop music star Michael Jackson, and music legend Diana Ross, with children, suggesting that the three were associated with sex abuser Jeffery Epstein. The image was quickly identified by social media users not as a private image from the Epstein files, but as a publicly available image from a 2003 fundraiser. The children were not Epstein victims, but rather Jackson’s and Ross’s own kids.
Then it turned out, as Michael R. Sisak and David B. Caruso of the Associated Press reported, at least 16 files that had initially been posted on the Justice Department’s public website have disappeared without explanation, including one that showed multiple photographs of Trump with Epstein.
Democratic lawmakers Representative Robert Garcia of California, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, and Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland, released a statement yesterday after Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said that the Department of Justice would not meet the deadline for the release of the Epstein files established by law.
“Donald Trump and the Department of Justice are now violating federal law as they continue covering up the facts and the evidence about Jeffrey Epstein's decades-long, billion-dollar, international sex trafficking ring,” the two wrote. “For months, [Attorney General] Pam Bondi has denied survivors the transparency and accountability they have demanded and deserve and has defied the Oversight Committee’s subpoena. The Department of Justice is now making clear it intends to defy Congress itself, even as it gives star treatment to Epstein's convicted co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell.Scio me nihil scire

Sounds to me, in the world of reality, that the CCOOTWH DoJ has “lost control of the ‘narrative’.” So much so that repubs in Congress are threatening to impeach Pam Bondage. But you know, stupid Dems are getting beat by CCOOTWH’s brilliant, brilliancy of brilliance because he controls the DoJ and the SCOTUS. Good bye house. Good bye senate. If only the dems had a 31 year old national strategic political plan. That’s why I used to support all this stuff, but learned since , voters don’t give a crap. You need to work on that reading comprehension, my comment is clearly ridiculing Dems for thinking they are going to outsmart the Rs on this. Hal’s posting of a handwritten note showing nothing more than a previously acknowledged friendship, while completely ignoring that very damning picture of Clinton demonstrates this perfectly. The Republicans control the department of justice, therefore are going to control the release of information …for anyone that doesn’t understand that does not understand politics. Which is basic logic because the Democrats just controlled the DOJ for four years and released nothing damning against Trump.
my comment is ridiculing a handwritten note that’s supposed to prove something on the day many of the documents are released and the big news is that picture of Clinton with the underage girl.Nowhere did I say that. What i did say is you can’t beat them at it, when they control the release of the Epstein info and what gets redacted. And they are using Clinton as a smoke screen to negate any negative impact on their guy.
and on a second level, I’ve been saying all along the “ trump is evil attack” has never worked for Dems. The only time they beat him is when they focused on his poor economic record in 2020.0 -

The Department of Justice is now making clear it intends to defy Congress itself, even as it gives star treatment to Epstein's convicted co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell. This is exactly what I am saying, and what are Dems going to do about it? Arrest Trump? Arrest Bondi?
Even if Dems win the midterms next year, what will they do then? Hold more hearings? Impeach him again?
yeah, because that has all worked really well in the past…
for those who forgot, they impeached him a second time in 2021 and he then got the most votes for a presidential removal in the country’s history. Within a few years Trump won the popular vote by the largest margin for a republican in decades. Let’s do it again!0 -

It’s about political damage and eroding trust between him and his base, which in turn helps in the mid terms.Lerxst1992 said:static111 said:Today observers caught that for all that the Department of Justice had omitted materials the law required they produce, Justice Department staffers had inserted unrelated material: a photo of former Democratic president Bill Clinton, pop music star Michael Jackson, and music legend Diana Ross, with children, suggesting that the three were associated with sex abuser Jeffery Epstein.
Then you should more clearly articulate your points. They have not made sense in quite a while.Lerxst1992 said:mrussel1 said:
It’s hilarious that you think this is a winning issue for Republicans. Also hilarious that you think the Ds have any interest in rallying around Clinton. You obviously are reading the right wing talking points, and like Trump, think this is some advantage. It isn’t. Everyone knows that Trump is in as deep as anyone, and no selective release will change that narrative.Lerxst1992 said:Halifax2TheMax said:* The following opinion is mine and mine alone and does not represent the views of my family, friends, government and/or my past, present or future employer. Wow, that’s damning. Might as well arrest him now.
go ahead,
post the bubba pic with the half dressed hot lady…or teeny bopper….snuggled on his lap.
beaten to a pulp again by the Rs lol. But yeah, you’ll outsmart them soon. Yay, Speaker Jeffries next year!! The Rs will figure out a way to make those investigations look bad also lol. Will it be a victory when Massie and Ro draw up impeachment articles against Bondi? What a terrible take. The voters who care the most about transparency of the Epstein files are “indies” and the MAGA base, and the continued obstruction and lack of transparency puts some of those in the dem or stay home column. Net positive for Dems. But what the dems really need is free bus fair and rent freezes for all to appeal to 90% of voters.

Even if most of these people photographed did nothing wrong, they all willingly hung out with an individual with young ladies all around him and thought nothing of it. Like it was normal. Probably are plenty more Jeffrey Epsteins out there.0
