Alright, so what would everyone say is their favorite pearl jam album based solely on the lyrics?
Mine has got to be avocado. I think its one of the few examples of a political album that not only engages the mind, but makes you think about the emotional impact of it all as well.
Whats everyone else think?

My heart belongs to VS
"gotta gun,
fact i got two,
that's ok man
cuz i love god.."
"she had to turn around.." (simple? you bet.. and truth)
"lifetimes are catching up with me"
"I swear I never took it for granted,
just thought of it now
Suppose I abused you, just passing it on.."
"he won the lottery..."
"said one, two, three, four, five against one..
five, five, five against one.. said.."
"bare their gums when they moan and squeak"
"young girl, violins,
center of her own attention.."
"get outta my fuckin' face"
"stab it down, one way needle, pulled so slowly..."
"i will light the match this morning,
so i won't be alone..."
"I took a drive today
Time to emancipate
I guess it was the beatings... made me wise
But I'm not about to give thanks, or apologize
I couldn't breathe, holdin' me down
Hand on my face, pushed to the ground
Enmity gauged, united by fear
Forced to endure what I could not forgive.....
My favorite album happens to be VS by Pearl Jam( D'OH!! )
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green0 -

Riot Act
Any album with "I Am Mine" and "Thumbing My Way" has to take it... in my opinion Eddie's two best lyrical songs. All the rusted signs, we ignore throughout our lives, choosing the shiny ones instead...
And he who forgets, will be destined to remember...0 -
I'm gonna go with Vitalogy. Satan's Bed, Nothingman (even though it's Ament), Immortality, Tremor Christ, Corduroy, all amazing. And I'm willing to ignore Bugs. Riot Act and Vs. are in a tie for 2nd, I think. And maybe Avocado. Shit, they're all good...The words you say never seem to live up to the ones inside your head...0

i really like the lyrics to Bugsits really creepy & uncomfortable.
Vitalogy, No Code & Binaural. all tied0 -
for me it is without a doubt Yield, with the highlight for me being low light9/1/2000 - E-Centre, Camden, 'Sometimes' started and I was hooked...0

Tie between Yield and Vitalogy...
Nothingman and Low Light are both my personal staples. Thanks a million Jeff!!!7/2/06 - Denver, CO
6/12/08 - Tampa, FL
8/23/09 - Chicago, IL
9/28/09 - Salt Lake City, UT (11 years too long!!!)
9/03/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 1
9/04/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 20 -
As far as lyrics go I personally think No Code is far superior to any other the band has made. Present Tense, Off he Goes, Who You Are . . . the list goes on and on. Number two Id say is a tie between Vitalogy and Yield but IMO nothing touches No Code0

I want to breathe
Follow the scene
I want to taste
Everyone I see
I want to run when I'm up high
I want to run into the sea
I only want life.... to be...
I just want to be...
I will feel alive... as long as I am free...Further back and forth a wave will break on me, today...0 -

Thumbing my way still knocks my socks off.
Makes me wanna cry every time so long as I don't burn it.
I don't think they'll (he'll) top that one off lyrically any time soon.
So there you go Riot Act!"He who hears music, feels his solitude peopled at once" R. Browning0 -

Vitalogy & No CodeLet's say knowledge is a tree, yeah.
It's growing up just like me.0 -
definitely yield and vitalogy-cant choose between the twoChristchurch, New Zealand 20090

Gotta go with Vitalogy. Immortality and Tremor Christ have some of the best imagery in any song I've ever heard. Plus Satan's Bed is hilarious, Betterman is just touching and Spin the Black Circle is the best song ever written about vinyl.0

the town's busy summertime flavor.
A sizeable crowd was expected at the Moose Dropping Festival, where
thousands watch preserved poop dropped on a bull's-eye. Two climbers died on
Mount McKinley, sad news for this, the last civilized stopover before base
camp.
But it was a two-page advertisement from an out-of-state religious group
at the newspaper's center that's still got the town talking.
"LIBERTY OF CONSCIENCE THREATENED," blares a headline above a photograph
of President Bush bowing as he clasps the hand of Pope Benedict XVI. "SUNDAY
WILL BE ENFORCED AS THE MARK OF THE BEAST."
Another photo shows a billboard bearing the words, "Saturday the TRUE
Lord's Day. Changed by Antichrist."
The Florida-based Eternal Gospel Church, a splinter group of the Seventh
Day Adventist Church with a reputation for controversy, bought the ad. It
accuses the Catholic Church of pressing for enforcement of Sunday "blue"
laws regulating moral activities. Seventh Day Adventists believe Saturday is
the Sabbath.

Minding yours, what's mine not yours
Will finish us off
